TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! JACKSON COUNTY EXEC FRANK WHITE BATTLES PUPPET PERCEPTION AND APPOINTS NEW CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER!!!

Jackson County Insiders reveal that Kansas City biz community leaders don't quite know what to make of newbie Exec Frank White but his the latest power move at the Courthouse is a good sign of the baseball legend FINALLY coming into his own as a politico.

Exec Frank White has been making the rounds and he's usually accompanied by the staff of the outgoing administration . . . More than a few meetings have raised eyebrows as to Exec Frank White's knowledge of County business.

But the bright side in all of this is a recent switcheroo that signals a parting of ways with the old guard.

Troy Thomas was appointed as Chief Financial Officer earlier this week.

That's a big move away from Chief Operating Officer Gary Panethiere who most considered a loyalist of the last administration . . .

Accordingly . . .

THIS JACKSON COUNTY INSIDE BASEBALL MONEY MAN MOVE IS A BIG DEAL THAT SIGNALS EXEC FRANK WHITE MAKING HIS OWN CALL!!!

An insider tells us . . .

"Mr. Thomas isn't a political appointee, he's somebody with an exceptional knowledge of how the County works and it's a great sign that Exec White has promoted him. Hopefully, this is the start of him asserting himself rather than just taking orders from the old guard."

This rare bit of good news comes at a time when Jackson County is facing increased scrutiny over an ongoing jail lawsuit and a myriad of contract conflicts.

  1. Frank will not be easy to control. That's one of the things that a lot of people didn't count on.

    Will he play ball?

Of course but even a little bit of resistance on his part is more than most of the legislature is willing to do.

  2. KCMO is ethically bankrupt so it's just more throwing something against the wall hoping it will stick at this point.

All the bill's (debts and defaults) will come due later.

Appreciate the update but what's happening with the assessment center is the real nightmare at the county and will probably be the next scandal.

I think what we're seeing here is a lot of the attention going away from city hall and back to the courthouse. Say what you want about mike but he was also good at managing the media. We'll see if Frank can keep up that legacy.
