Kansas City leaders, activists and demonstrators now demand an explanation of police tactics in using pepper spray against protesters who they describe as "peacefully" rallying against a campaign visit by presidential contender Donald Trump.
Here is there argument sent to TKC:
"They say they pepper sprayed us because we moved past the barricade. But we have a right to peacefully assemble anywhere we'd like. The police restrictions were unconstitutional and, in essence, we were doused with chemicals for trying to cross the street."
But that's not the whole story . . .
Police report protesters throwing bottles and other objects while insulting, screaming and threatening officers.
Kansas City Chief Of Police Forté defends the action of his officers and promises a more detailed explanation of police tactics last night.
Furthermore the Chief notes the lack of any significant damage to downtown businesses which police where also charged with defending.
