Sleaze Summit Forgiveness After Tragedy

Tragic aftermath of a deadly local crash continues and this story is notable if only because the MADD won't be able to expand drink driving rules to include arrest against anybody who even thought about having a drink or looked at a booze ad while driving a car. Take a look: Mom of Lee's Summit teen killed in crash supports charged driver, doesn't want him locked up

  2. Don't worry, It's Jackson County. Most criminals don't get locked up thanks to our fine Judges, incompetent prosecutor and jail administration.

  3. We have a fatal flaw in our society. We have a perpetual, "He has his whole life in front of him". syndrome. Seldom do we think that a young offender should not have a whole life ahead of them no matter how bad the crime. Parents have a responsibility that goes beyond copulation. If their kid turns out to be a murdering bastard at 16 their kid needs to be removed - he deserves no fulfilling life. This is not about some kid who egged his teachers house on Halloween. This is about a disregard and judgement so bad that someone died.

  4. OK, should we lock up in prison EVERY teenage boy who drives his car too fast and makes poor driving choices? Or just those who -- by the luck of the draw -- are unfortunate enough to have a fatal accident?

If the former, we are going to have to build a lot more prisons. But is there truly a LEGAL (as opposed to vengeful) rationale for just the latter?

This is a brave mother, able to understand that ANY kid (including her own) could behave foolishly behind the wheel of a car and that the destruction of the life of her son's friend brings her no comfort.

We often talk about being a Christian nation. Well, she is what a "Christian" looks like.

  6. If some dick drives like an idiot and kills innocent people, they deserve prison.

  8. Why would a fucking kid deserve any bigger break than an adult? Prison sucks for everyone. It isn't about brain formation or driving test scores. It is about the act. His parents turned the little fuck loose in a car. Blaming lousy driving, poor judgement and negligence on the fact that he is a kid is justification to prohibit him from driving. Once he drives and the deed is done he pays just like anyone else. When your society stops insisting on personal accountability you wind up with criminals running for president.
