TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! DEMOCRATIC PARTY ELITE FEAR COALITION AGAINST KANSAS CITY EARNINGS TAX INCLUDING EAST SIDE VOTERS!!!

The Kansas City ruling class is quickly discovering that hatred of taxes unites voters across political, cultural and demographic lines.

This should be fun . . . Mayor Sly must lobby African-American voters in Kansas City in order to save the earnings tax despite a tense relationship over the years and the fact that his Administration has been mostly focused on corporate welfare for rich white people and their lawyers.

Think about this . . .

- The East side was a big part of the translational tax defeat which earned rebuke citywide . . .

- East side voters helped to defeat the streetcar extension . . .

- And the recent voter petition to thwart BNIM was a product of east side leaders . . .

Here's what looks interesting to us . . .

Mostly white libertarian conservative tax fighters crafted an impressive working relationship with east side activists who have long been ignored and taken for granted by the Democratic Party establishment. This alliance seems like one of the most effective bits of advocacy for the urban core in more than a generation.

Seriously, it's strange to hear Crosby Kemper III talking like a store front preacher on Troost and standing arm in arm with community activist leaders in order to create a coalition.

Meanwhile . . .

TKC EXCLUSIVE . . . E-TAX FIGHTERS GAINING TRACTION IN THE URBAN CORE SPELLS TROUBLE BECAUSE SENTIMENT AGAINST THE E-TAX IN THE MOSTLY WHITE NORTHLAND IS ALREADY HORRIBLE!!!

Like it or not, Conservatives and urban core leaders working together have proven to be the only effective means of thwarting the status quo corporate cronyism that has corrupted elite Democratic Party politics.

TKC was FIRST to identify this trend and we kind hinted that the "Divided City" public TV broadcast was really just an hour long commercial against the E-Tax. Turns out, some of the folks working for Crosby helped to craft the documentary in order to create an effective talking point. Now politicos are abuzz over anti-E-Tax radio commercials targeting Question 1 among predominately African-American-centric radio stations. However, this trend is now close to four years old and entrenched newsies and Democratic elite are just starting to notice as it threatens one of this town's biggest tax cash feeding troughs.

Accordingly, all of this inspires our playlist tonight . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday Night . . .

  1. The etax is a green monster. Not surprised there is unity to defeat it.

  2. The E-tax is illegal time to put it to an end.

  3. Still say that this tax wins by at least 20 percentage points. There are just too many special interests locked into the machine. That's how KC does business, we pay off people to vote and disguise the funds. There is no ethics in Missouri, just graft.

  4. How bout a Toni Bones update.

Has she managed to come up with one original thought yet?

  5. Do yourself a favor, move to South johnson county. That is the only escape from the e-tax. Never have anything to do with KCMo.

  9. The Kansas City Atheist Coalition has no position on this or any other relevant issues.

But the will let you know if they catch any of the International House Of Prayer young people trying to pray in public.

    Thank You.

  11. You'll have to start another thread on Topix to explain to the local boys, why they should hate me. The truth will out, you racist trolls aren't fooling anyone. Your agenda is obvious.

    I salute Crosby Kemper, III!

  14. We will pass the E-tax on April 5, 2016.

  15. If the City was smart it would pass a 15 year plan to slowly replace the e-tax with a downsized government along with other revenue sources which would fill the void. I am a life long democrat who will vote against the e-tax. I see way too much waste and ineffective City departments to support the e-tax.

I truly believe the elimination of the e-tax would over time would stimulate the economy in KC. In addition, the replacement of the centralized KCPS with charter schools and a choice plan which would allow KC families to sent their kids to suburban schools would be very a very positive step for KC.

Leaving KCMO was liberating. No more crime, good schools, lower taxes. Glad I don't work there and pay e-tax.

  18. "Our Divided City", I will confidently assert, is not a commercial against the Etax, but more an earnest plea for a call to action. A call with open arms, tears flowing, loudest shouts and hard fought survival coming from children in the forgotten district. KC-- a world class city, MLB's crown town, city of fountains and locale to so many bright spots has some titles to live up to east of Troost. Large scale clearing out of dangerous, demoralizing blight is the start. Urgent needs are affordable homes and focus on success in schools BEFORE a new hotel, airport renovation or other subsidized projects. There are troublesome folks, but there are more decent families like the ones we met through "Our Divided City". KC's good people from politicians to private citizens can do right working together to make KC better. The next film will be "Our United City".

    1. Why don't they ever discuss mass demolition as a remedy to anything on the Westside. It's perfectly acceptable when we are talking about neighborhoods with high concentration of black people. Many of the beings, though vacant, are salvageable homes and structures. Yes, clean them up. No to tearing them down. There's got to be a better, more productive way. And mass vacancy is directly related to bad public policy. Two sets of rules, one set is a snare set for certain hues. The other is a path of daisies and privilege. Tear down all the buildings you want - it wont change a thing. Then what? Bad politics continues to kill the eastside.

  20. Byron, your race has nothing to do with why people don't like you. You'd be a worthless piece of shit regardless. But I am impressed that you can type so well. I would think it'd be hard to see the keyboard while you're deep throating Antonio.

  27. I am all for kissing the etax bye bye. If you live in KS, but work in KCMO, it's taxation without representation. Seems like revolutions have been started over this before... also, it's criminal how they tie it to police and firemen. Find another way!

  28. Get a job somewhere else. Enjoy your higher tax rates in JoCo and your failed theocracy coupled with economic disaster. Just remember, in JoCo, you have to move 3 miles south and 3 miles west every 5 years, leaving a trail of blight, empty subsidized strip malls and vacant office buildings behind you. In return for your higher taxes you get AWESOME SNOW REMOVAL which is the MOST IMPORTANT THING EVAR in a place with an average snowfall of 5 inches per winter. Plus you get to watch all your tax money get given away to corporations who you literally have to pay to move into the state with the worst and most deserved reputation in the US.

  29. Be careful what you ask for, Kansas City. What would we do without the E-tax?

    ReplyDelete
  30. If the shitizens of KC cram the E Tax down the expats throats the price is going to be fucking high for KC. That is a guarantee.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 2:09 for starters the company I work for wouldn't have move out of the KC area to operate. I still have a job just have to drive further now, but a vote was taken and the employees said to hell with e-tax and so the owner moved because he was tired of the damn e-tax.

So KC lost out on that deal and I bet place I work at isn't only one.

  32. I am a registered Democrat, have been for years, and watched the KCMO govt absolutely FUCK the citizens over and over. No more free handouts, Mr. Mayor. Local streets are in horrible shape and you give TIFs away like Halloween candy. The trick is on us. I vote NO on furthering the Etax.
