  4. 2:48 A public meeting is open to the public to view, it doesn't necessarily have an open comments portion. Also, it may be a public meeting for residents of that district alone. If he would have called ahead or walked in and asked when the next public meeting with an open mic for public discourse was scheduled they could have told him when that was, if or when the meeting was for his qualifications OR put his group on the agenda for this public meeting which is what they kind of forcefully did here. Now they have to interrupt a process that is already in-efficient being government and they have no preparation to address his issues. With a little heads up they could have an equal plan. But that is not the procedure for many of these little groups whose main purpose is ambush and disrupt society to push a social agenda. Food is a RIGHT? Well just march over to the farmer who works the soil to bring you the food and tell them he did it for free because it's your right to take his food. Food is not a right. You have the right to pursue it legally. Someone gives it to you that is generally legal, as long as it's theirs to give to you and as long as it's integrity has been maintained. No use giving someone a nice full plate of Ecoli. Is it embarrassing to need to ask for free stuff? Yes, to most it is. It means usually that someone, namely you, have made a bad choice or two. Like spending your relatively small amount of income on a nose ring. Well, there's no accounting for style. But if you've decided to make begging your means of living you have to deal with those consequences. If you have suffered tragedy and now you need to free food, you should be thankful that you can find it and not be ashamed that consequences out of your control have left you to this path. Shame only works if you know it's true.

But to your point, public meetings are not all the same. I imagine this group, with his printed off talking point and no doubt tips on how to get into public meetings, know full well this point. He might consider giving his speech a couple trial runs around the camp fire at night to the rest of the group. He may not be their best public speaker in this mode.
