Stay within the Lines
If the City really wanted us to park anywhere near the streetcar, they pretend to encourage with their "White-Line" campaign, they might have actually measured a normal car.
As you'll see in the two photos, you have a sedan and an SUV, both cars inside the white line. Unfortunately, as you'll see in the second photo, to get inside the line, both cars are required to park on the sidewalk. The SUV's tires nearly completely over the sidewalk.
Perhaps this was intended so the city has an excuse to tear up the streetcar line again. This fat-headed mistake would not be so bad, if you could merely repaint the white-line a 1/2 foot or so further away from the curb, but, of course, that's impossible since the FIXED RAIL vanity train of our mayor can not be moved.
When driverless cars become a reality, the Sly-Express will be seen for the ridiculous waste of money at only $62,000,000 a mile.

Seems like we need to redraw about half of the lines. That should only be another $500,000.

Im curious during a heavy snow, or even a light dusting covering the white lines,will this parking be considered a snow route, and adhere to thode policies.

Most locals will probably not take the chance on a fine or damage to their cars
I personally feel that supporters knew there were parking issues, but pushed this through with total disregard for these businesses that need to survive in a very competitive restaurants industry.
I've heard there are issues with the basics, such as delivery of supplies and mail.
Basically the problem was, is and will be niggers, not some parking fuckshit.

If you look on page 39 of the KCMO FY 2015-16 Submitted Budget, the category is REVENUE ALL FUNDS, and go to the listing "FINES and FORFEITURES" Can you guess what KCMO is planning to collect in the way of fines and forfeitures? What percentage change from the prior year would this represent? (I'll give you a few seconds....hint, be a cynical realist)
KCMO plans to collect $19.4 MILLION dollars in fines and forfeitures, representing a 31.9 percent increase over the prior year!! That's a whole lot of tickets folks!!

This is not new, which does not mean it is not indicative of the "planning" that went into the toy choo choo and will make expanding the nonstarter line a tough sell.

ReplyDeleteMoron. The car in front is an SUV. My F-250 is as wide as any Suburban. I can't park anywhere near the "F-ing" streetcar line if I don't want to be towed away for a) being over the white line or b) having my entire tire on the sidewalk for being over the tire.
I work for a rich "F-ing" guy. He pays me a decent wage. That wage is what we negotiated. It allows me to drive a big-ass truck as well as take care of my family. His wealth, that you seem so envious of, pays for other employees. In fact, the guy has so much money he could be a cottage industry unto himself. Without the job he gave me, I would not have been able to afford my small farm and, in another few years, I'll be debt free and working for myself. Not rich, but independent. All because a rich guy and I negotiated a fair price for what I was selling... my labor.
So let's see... your envy at his success, created by him entirely, has Bernie Sanders tax him 99%... and so he MOVES to Central America where his dollars go much farther and are tax much less... and we lose the 25 jobs he current supports... good plan.
The Rolling Stones were going to be tax by England's IRS 70-plus percent on their next album. They decided to take their production and do it in France. Guess what happened? I took the photos. One side was showing the cars within the lines. The other photo showed HOW they got within the lines by parking on the sidewalk. I had my date cover the license of the Mercedes because I didn't know who owned it or thought anyone would want their plate numbers posted. My car is the Suburban in front. There is no way that will ever fit within the lines. No American made pickup will either.
