An argument about police shootings from #BlackLivesMatter protesters is picking up steam. We talked about the "Mapping Police Violence" website yesterday and now national media is starting to pick up the trend . . .
Raw Story: These 14 large police departments only killed black people this year
Here's the argument . . .
"Activists with Black Lives Matter have been tracking available data and released a “Mapping Police Violence” report Monday that shows nearly a quarter of all police killings this year were by officers in the nation’s 60 largest cities — which hold about 17 percent of the U.S. population.
"Those 60 police departments disproportionately killed black people — who make up 41 percent of the victims despite being only 20 percent of the population in those jurisdictions.
"Fourteen of those departments — St. Louis, Atlanta, Kansas City, Cleveland, Baltimore, Virginia Beach, Boston, Washington D.C., Minneapolis, Raleigh, Milwaukee, Detroit, Philadelphia and Charlotte-Mecklenberg — killed exclusively black people this year.
"Only five of the 60 largest police departments killed only whites."
As always, here @ TKC we believe that numbers should START the conversation and NOBODY should have the last word. Sadly, Kansas City media outlets have been ignoring this ranking from a national protest movement.
While some social media chatter has offered a perspective on the stats . . . The lack of public and media reax could signal that #BlackLivesMatter protesters are losing steam and police shootings, regardless of demographic trends aren't a topic of controversy in Kansas City.
It's worth noting that a great many of these deadly police shootings took place in the context of a threat to neighborhoods as well. For instance, local protesters attempted to make a big deal over the guy shot dead by police while swinging a sword this Summer until it was revealed that the urban core samurai was also targeting nearby residents (TKC Hint: Those residents were also Black). Meanwhile, local #BlackLivesMatter protesters were successful in creating a citywide controversy over the controversial death of Ryan Stokes.

It's not disparity or demographics. IT'S BAD DECISIONS by people who should have known better than to engage in violence.

The incidence of Black on White Rape is so scandalous and so essentially racist, that even a cursory overview of the real facts can not hide the malevolent bedrock of hatred that exists already for whites from blacks and, when seen by anyone with any semblance of intelligence, including Liberals, shows the real truth as a acathing indictment of not only blacks and the African American sub culture, but the quintessential disgrace that the Liberal Lickspittle Press has become in it's effort to maintain power, sinecure and make bank on the dead and raped whites all over America.
Again, the stats don't lie. The videos do not lie. With extremely few exceptions, the cops on the beat arrest and detain those who egregiously break the law.

The police seem to be afraid of (and therefore, hate) the blacks more than the whites. We all know that black men have been shot down, when a white man, in the same situation, would not have been. We've seen these videos, too.
This is what "Black Lives Matter" is trying to address. This is happening because of our unresolved racial history. But, it is happening. The police are killing black men, disproportionately.

ReplyDeleteIntentional slanting of facts does not make facts. The truth is the KC metro is not comprised of 290 percent blacks. It is comprised of 32 percent blacks. Since you have no figures to represent the percentage of blacks living outside the city limits that travel through the city limits or what percentage from outside come inside to commit crime you can not speak to the issues of percentages of the black population gets off'd. Police don't deal with the populations. they deal with factions of it from both inside and outside the city limits. They don't deal with all blacks. They deal with a small percentage of blacks who represent a huge percentage of violent crime. To deny that blacks are responsible for the largest percentage of violent crime just defies every scientific and statistical benchmark in existence. Your logic just isn't.
