TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! MEET MAYOR SLY'S NEW CITIZEN TASK FORCE ON VIOLENCE!!! CAN THESE CIVIC DENIZENS STOP THE KANSAS CITY 2015 HOMICIDE SPIKE???

As a response to a Kansas City homicide surge of nearly 40% over last year, Mayor Sly James has announced a group of marketing people, artists, politicos and lawyers to help stop this bloody trend.

To wit . . .

TELL US IF YOU THINK THESE FRIENDS OF MAYOR SLY AND LOCAL POLITICAL DENIZENS CAN HELP THWART THE RECENT KANSAS CITY CRIME AND MURDER SPIKE!!!

If this is the plan now after a great many people have lost faith in the paid consultants from KC Nova . . . We've seen this kind of tactic before and we're pretty sure these folks aren't out there committing murders and have very little influence over the people who are caught up in the latest local crime wave.

Here's what the mayor has to say, you decide . . .

City Hall: Diverse Group Will Develop Recommendations to Reduce Crime

Mayor Sly James today established a Citizen Task Force on Violence and asked its members to address ways to reduce violent crime in the City.

“While Kansas City gets a lot of national recognition for entrepreneurism, tech initiatives and the World Series Champion Royals, I remain disheartened by persistent and senseless violence in our City, whether the violence involves guns, domestic violence, child abuse or potential terrorism,” James said.

“I am asking this diverse group of citizens to spend the next year consulting with subject-matter experts and others to explore ways to make Kansas City safer,” he said. “We must reduce violence of all types so that everyone here — and everyone who wants to be here — will be safe at home, at work and in the community.”

James said the mission of the Citizens Task Force on Violence is to gather facts and data to recommend pragmatic policies and best practices about how we as a City can prevent, address and respond to violence in all its forms, including but not limited to active shooter situations, violence-driven street crime, illegal use of weapons, domestic violence, child abuse and other violent situations.

James named Fourth District Councilwoman Jolie Justus as chair of the committee. Councilwoman Justus is a former Missouri State Senator and State Senate Minority Leader. She was named Legislator of the Year by both the Missouri Association of Prosecutors and the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in recognition of her successful three-year effort to revise the Missouri Criminal Code.

Vice Chair is Andres Dominguez, a program officer at the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City. Formerly a senior community affairs advisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and a senior program officer at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Dominguez’s focus interests include safety net and social determinants of health.

Also named to the task force:

- Deidre Anderson, Executive Director, United Inner City Services.
- Charles Atwell, attorney with Foland Wickens, P.C., and a former Jackson County Circuit Court Judge.
- Charles Caisley, Vice President, Marketing & Public Affairs, Kansas City Power & Light.
- Alissia Canady, Fifth District City Councilwoman.
- Jose Faus, Artist, Writer and Educator.
- Tina Harris, Pastor, Grand Avenue Temple United Methodist Church.
- Jill M. Katz, Attorney.
- Jonathan Kemper, Vice Chairman, Commerce Bancshares Inc.
- Rodney Knott, CEO, ReEngage Staffing Services.
- Allan Markley, Superintendent, Raytown Quality Schools.
- Nancy Olivares, Attorney.
- D.J. Pierre, Assistant City Prosecutor, City of Kansas City, Missouri.
- Judy Sherry, President-Owner, Judy Sherry Consortium, Advertising & Marketing.
- Rosilyn Temple, Founder and Executive Director, Kansas City Chapter, Mothers in Charge Inc.
- Wick Thomas, Teen Services Librarian, Kansas City Public Library.
- Crystal Williams, Jackson County Legislator.

Mayor James asked that the Task Force complete its work within 12 months. The City Clerk will post public notices of Task Force meetings.

  3. of course an artist, gay librarian, a gay council member, a drunk politician and a bunch of other dingbats will stop the killing in the streets. Don't be a hater!

  4. Looks like 2015 is the year city hall bullshit will pass BBQ as KC's top consumable. I pretty sure this pow wow is a big bucket full.

Citizens Crime Task Force.......that's some funny shit. That's like trying to wipe your ass with dental floss. Sure, Gaping Buttholio will try, but.......

  6. Agree with bear. Seems like a bunch of people with phony titles and not a single one has experienced or see a crime. Well maybe a john trying to buy a lay from a downtown secretary on lunch break.

  7. Are they going to relocate a bunch of niggers?

Then obviously the answer is yes.

Also I see some niggers in that picture and once again you've made the mistake of classifying niggers as people. Since they are not human, you should not refer to them as people.

Please try to not make this mistake. We will correct you in the future as we always have.

  8. Good looking group of crimefighters

  9. Just tell us now how much this is going to cost in addition to all the other ongoing, unsuccessful, gimme more free shit, bullshit programs that are supposed to stop black violence.

  10. Sly's rainbow gang against crime = Detroit = Worthless

  11. Lawyers, business owners, a banker, elected officials.....what's missing here???? A law enforcement officer(s) to lend their expertise and not just command staff officers, it should be a couple of street cops who can tell these folks what is going on and how they can help.....ahhh, but that makes to much sense!!

This proves Sly has no interest in lowering the crime rate

    ReplyDelete
  12. No one is holding the families and friends of those committing the violence accountable. They are just as responsible for the acts of violence in not talking as the one who pulls the trigger.

    ReplyDelete
  13. So a rainbow flag waving group is going to spend a year "consulting on the subject matter"......
I guess having cops go around town and make arrests never occurred to them

  14. Want to stop crime, aint gonna happen with this group. .....a bunch of "no nothings, do nothings"
The most glaring misstep is Crystal Williams.
This woman by her own words on FB blames KCPD for for EVERYTHING.
The only reason she keeps getting elected is by name recognition, not by accomplishments.
Jolie Justus never took interest in anything but her own political career.
I ask you , why didn't our piece of crap Mayor, just have normal everyday individuals from the affected neighborhoods. They are the ones making a difference , not a bunch of knuckle dragging socialites. Do you think anyone of them every really know whats going on , even in yheir own neighborhood. ...we know Crystal doesn't, she only is interested in calling everyone Racist.
This panel is a worthless joke.
    Typical Sly James

  15. Not a single member of law enforcement. This guy has lost his fucking mind. Who in the fuck is going to tell these fucking blow job artists what the real world looks like. Without buy-in from those who enforce laws this thing is dead already. We all know Sly doesn't know what buy-in even looks like.

    ReplyDelete
  16. To bad they don't have super powers. They could be named the gorilla squad after their leader. Then they will clean up Kansas City crime.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Not a single member of law enforcement. This guy has lost his fucking mind.

Nailed that one. Sly seems bond and determined to destroy Kansas City one stupid inexcusable mistake at a time. He actually must believe he's doing something right. Scary.

  24. Lots of good comments here, people like to hate on this blog and say that it's all negative but anybody from the Mayor's office should take a closer look. These are people telling you about the problem but you don't want to see.

    ReplyDelete
  25. We have a huge number of returning Veterans who have experience going into communities terrorized by thugs, making them safe, and building their trust. The east side of KC is not much different from a village in Afghanistan or a neighborhood in Iraq. We have the answer, but Sly doesn't know the question.

    ReplyDelete
  26. No offense to any of these folks, but I'm not optimistic that this group will accomplish much of anything except deflecting criticism of the mayor's inaction on violent crime for a year. Their recommendations will include a lot of Sly's agenda (blame Jefferson city for disallowing a citywide gun ban) and anything else that costs too much money or conflicts with his agenda will be ignored/rejected.

Happy to see the Mayor doing slightly more to address this issue though. Too bad he's got five years under his belt aside from one significant anomaly last year, homicide has been consistently bad. And I mean freakishly to the point that it undermines most people who consider moving here from the region.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Dont worry, folks! Things are safer than they've ever been. Maybe the Mayor's solution is paying people off. It worked so well on the East Patrol project. Jolie Justus being a senator has no bearing on whether she can influence or analyze crime. Having this white woman head up the committe on crime is intwnded to inspire people to come foward and help resolve crime? Having a black mayor, police chief and various other title-grabbers in position of authority hasnr work. Having a clueless white woman take a stab at it... This is about titles and being seen. Same shit, different day and zero results from the usual crowd KCNova, Adhoc, My Brothers Keeper, various Baptist coalition, etc. Doing the same thing expecting different results is still the definition of crazy. Now back to your regularly scheduled propaganda, urban gunfights and stray bullets.

  28. These ass kissers have no idea how to solve the problem because these so called leaders are the ones who have created the problem from there lack of ideas and weak personalities. Leadership in this town is followership, creating an ass licking daisy chain of corruption and know-nothingism. New ideas and progressive leadership is served with scorn and contempt because it does not come from official sources, and that it does not match with the pre-approved outcome generated in back room deals. Any leader that asks for a resignation letter in advance has contempt for any creative individual thought and true innovation.

  29. The committee will recommend that Kansas City make all crime illegal.

    ReplyDelete
  30. There are far too many people on the committee and far too little intellectual diversity. From what I can tell, all seem to be of a liberal political bent. Their report will be full of the usual leftist nostrums that never work when put to the test. To save time and energy, they should write the report now.

  31. 2:03 gets it! WINNER! WINNER! WINNER!

  32. Good luck getting Jolie Justus to respond to the constituents who elected her.
Jolie has a screener who decides what is relevant for her to view.
This is a first , in the past you always received some sort of response.
This is the end of the road for Justus's political career, she milked the gay community for votes, and they gave her an easy 10%.
Jolie, when she lived in Hyde Park couldn't give a rats ass about crime .
What a poor choice to have lead a pack of poor choices.
Crystal Williams, is the bottom of the barrel

  33. Wow! I'm feeling all warm, fuzzy and safer than shit already.
