TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! AIM4PEACE EARNS BIG BUCKS DESPITE KANSAS CITY 2015 HOMICIDE SPIKE!!!

Kansas City currently endures a homicide spike of nearly 40% over last year's numbers which have already surpassed the total 2014 murder count.

Nevertheless . . .

TAKE A LOOK AT MORE THAN A MILLION BUCKS FUNDING CITY HALL ANTI-CRIME PROGRAM AIM4PEACE DESPITE A QUESTIONABLE IMPACT IN REDUCING THE LOCAL NUMBER OF HOMICIDES!!!

The bright side here is that the cash isn't coming from City Hall coffers but the money still comes from somewhere and might not be well spent given the current homicide trend.

Take a look at pending legislation:

#150936: Accepting and approving a three-year $993,616.00 grant award agreement from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, to provide funding to the Aim4Peace Program which supports initiatives with proven multi-disciplinary, community-based strategies to reduce violence; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

#150990: Authorizing the acceptance and approval of a one-year $300,000.00 grant award agreement with the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City for the Aim4Peace program.

Over the past few years the budget of Aim4Peace has been called into question along with the methodology of the group which claims that it prevents local murders.

Aim4Peace has fallen out of favor in local community circles and now KC NoVa is the latest, greatest effort to earn accolades from mainstream media which is now silent about holding the group accountable for claims that "community engagement" would cure this town's deadly violent streak.

Like it or not, these big money cash awards reveal that crime prevention is a rather lucrative Kansas City industry wherein some locals seem more interested in securing funding than solving the ongoing murder problem.

  1. Everything connected to city hall is an industry.

This group is just more effective at moving to the front of the line when it comes to federal funding.

The money is ongoing and as long as city hall keeps supporting it, there's no stopping this gravy train.

Gravy train is about right. Don't forget that community picnics are a big part of their strategy.

Here is what you should write about TKC: This is just a legacy program of the old city manager wayne cauthen. He came up with this nightmare and nobody ever bothered to cancel it. That's why keeping a decent city manager like Troy is important, if you don't the legacy of a bad one can last far beyond their tenure like we're seeing here.

Give me a million bucks a year and I'll put together a team to form the Black Lives Don't Matter program and we'll have this shit hole town pretty much cleaned up in one year.

  5. Logic TKC - If we are enduring a homicide trend then maybe it's smart to direct resources to deal with it. Ever think about that?

    1. True on the surface, but KC has a long entrenched history of a relatively small group of people who know how to make a great living for their family and friends off of public dollars. This is part of that.

  6. God forbid the feds spend this money on potholes or KCMO sewer repair.

Big government typically likes to throw money at problems instead of solve them. It's just sad that there is an illusion that these elected officials want to solve the problem.

  11. Can you hear those niggers snorting. Just like hogs at the trough. Wallowing in the "crime fighting grant money".

Bet Alonzon will be along soon with his super hero comic book wanting to join the wallow.

  12. I do not mind this money spent on crime fighting, however there needs to be an independent audit of these resources. Lets find out what is effective and the direct the money there, we can't afford to waste funds when there are people's lives at stake.

  13. What a waste of public tax dollars.

No, but no one is shocked.

Crooks, grifters and scofflaws run this city.

  14. It seems to me that if they have all of this federal money then they don't need support from City Hall. It's time to cut their budget.
