Former police officer pleads guilty in theft case

A former Raytown police officer, has pleaded guilty to three felonies and two misdemeanors related to thefts from police evidence room, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

The defendant appeared in Div. 2 courtroom this morning and entered guilty pleas to five counts: 3 felony counts of Theft, a Class C felony, and two misdemeanor counts of Theft. He was sentenced to two years probation with numerous conditions. If he fails to comply, he faces two years in prison.

According to court records, Pool took from the police evidence room drugs and jewelry, beginning in early January 2013.

Chief Trial Assistant Michael Hunt led the prosecution for the state of Missouri.

    Hey Tony when is Tim Runnels' sentencing. He supposedly copped a plea back in September, but not a single anyone has disclosed whether he was sentenced to time or given a pass from the judge. This thing is starting to smell fishy.
