KCMO city government has encouraged and groomed developers over many years to ALWAYS ask for tax breaks. Generally, they've been trained to threaten, cajole, and offer monetary "incentives" to cooperating politicos for the granting of said tax breaks.
Mayor Sylvester James is an ASSHOLE, who is now escalating the "I love developers/I hate citizens" game of local governance. Joining Team Asshole is City Manager Troy Schulte, City Attorney Bill Geary, along with most of the Council and TIF Commission. In a blatant display of DESPICABLE UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT these "pubic servants" (not a misprint) are now routinely conspiring to thwart the will of the people they purport to represent.
And the fact that The Kansas City Star Editorial Board cowers at the foot of Team Asshole is not surprising, as they themselves are the recipient of similar tax breaks. He who cautions of the poison cup, yet can't resist the offered sip, will perish the same as he who gulped.
That Duff photo is photoshopped to hell. She is currently the owner of an ass that looks like the Goodyear blimp.
