Stanford and Sons Weekend Comedy And Holiday Entertainment
Stanford and Sons Comedy Club and Restaurant always wants to put a big smile on your face during the holiday season. It all starts this weekend with one of the stars who broke out on the television series BREAKING BAD. His five year run on that emmy award winning series as DEA Agent Gomez has made him 'hot' on stage. Steven Michael Quezada has put the attention on this comic from New Mexico. Steven had already been in many comedy shows including Latino Laff Specials on HBO with George Lopez and the New Arsenio Hall Show. His take on coming up the hard way from comedy to film and tv is both funny and telling. Steven also was on Crash, In Plain Sight and Beerfest. He is in several new films including a new one with George Lopez. See him live on stage this week at the new Stanfords in Overland Park.
Following Quezada is long time co star on the Tonight Show, Kira Soltanovich, She makes her KC return after several years with Jay Leno. Kira was the Photo Booth girl on his show for years and of course did her stand up often on the Tonight Show. Kira's career took off when she co starred with Chelsea Handler on their hit show 'Girls Behaving Badly.' Now Kira is doing a one hour Netflix special shooting in both KC and St. Louis now. April Macie takes the first week of December at the club. A regular on Howard Stern who named her best looking hottest female comic ever. She is all that. Her late night show with Dave Attell 'Comedy Underground' and tons of other specials including HBO specials with Pauly Shore and Snoop have made her an in demand female act nationwide. Tim Meadows follows April from his long running show Saturday Night Live. Meadows has been busy ever since with films including "The Ladies Man'" and currently seen in Trainwreck with Amy Schumer and his new tv series The Goldberg's.
New Years Eve will be special with Seinfeld co star 'Kenny Bania' Steve Hytner. Also over holiday season see Josh Wolf from his tv series The Josh Wolf Show, My Name is Earl, Chelsea Lately and After Lately. As well as Jim Florentine and Don Jamison, Dare fav's from 'That Metal Show' and 'Crank Yankers.'

Stanfords has added a second comedy room. Every Friday and Saturday at 8pm see area comics on the weekend at the second room across from the main stage.Karaoke follows til 2 AM. A full entertainment spot for everyone.

ReplyDeleteKaraoke? Man thats some real scarping at the bottom of the barrel to draw some people in. Thats the sign of a place desperate to get peolpe to come in. Myself if I want to hear screeching I'll go step on the balls of the neighbors cat. Good yuk yuk clubs don't need two rooms or karaoke, they have real stars each week. I just left One Block South a while ago and that place was packed tonight. Rugheads joint looked dead.
