Over the Summer, Mayor Sly and Councilman Jermaine Reed wasted everybody's time with talk of raising the City's minimum wage.
In the end, JUST LIKE OUR BLOG COMMUNITY NOTED, nothing came of the effort because Missouri rules, regs and statues very clearly states that municipalities cannot override State Law.
Still . . . The union backed fair wage fighters will not be deterred.

THE REALITY IS THAT THESE DEMANDS TO INCREASE THE MINIMUM WAGE IN KANSAS CITY ARE QUITE LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!

THE ONGOING EFFORT DEMONSTRATES THE GROUP DOESN'T UNDERSTAND THE LEGISLATIVE PROCESS IN MISSOURI AND THEY ARE ENCOURAGING IGNORANCE AMONG THEIR MEMBERSHIP!!!
Fighting for higher wages is fine . . . Usually done more effectively by getting another job . . . Still, what is objectionable here is that this group has not only embarrassed local politicos but also endangered the citizen initiative petition process with a demand that simply violates the law.

I’m getting tired of morons and fools complaining for a "Fair Wage" when they haven't earned or even worked for it.
ReplyDeleteGet a better education. Stop having kids out of wedlock. You shouldn't have dropped out of school. You should of learned a trade. Stop getting tats. Stop smoking, weed or cigarettes.
Work for the 15 an hour. Stop complaining about it
They should buy a laptop and start blogging. The money will start pouring in so fast they'll be able to move into One Light Tower.
ReplyDeleteTrue. It's like that pic you see on the intertubes where the guy is lounging the day away in a beach chair tapping on his laptop. He also has a fancy iced umbrella drink in the cup holder. And there is a couple of good looking young chick's in bikini's walking by just in front of him. I think it was called the new economy or sumptin back in the 90's.
