Wheeler for GOVERNOR???
It seems former Kansas City Mayor Charles Wheeler thinks he has another run for office left in him.
The former Mayor is in great health for a man of nearly 90 -- and still sharp as a tack -- but he apparently is quietly trying to put together a campaign team to assist him in becoming the next Governor of Missouri. Friends and advisors are trying to tactfully talk him out of this, reminding him that he would be 93 at the end of his first term. But he seems to be determined to make a run for the Democratic Nomination.
Wheeler is a great guy and have given so much to this city. And has nothing to prove. I hope he listens to trusted family and friends, and leaves the rigors of a state-wide political race to at the next generation.

Problem is, about 10 years ago when we went to Jeff City to speak with reps, when we met with old Doc Wheeler - he started falling asleep in his chair while talking with people. Sad but true.

ReplyDeleteWheeler is a good man, this tipster is absolutely correct. He is still very sharp. We should all hope to be doing so well at that age. He would bring a lot to the party, I hope younger democrats look to him for guidance. Charles Wheeler still has a lot to offer Kansas City.
