Kansas City Hip-Hop 'Perfect Day' Clip

An appropriate Saturday music selection from our favorite Kansas City hip-hop blog . . . Take a look at the latest installment from Second Hand King . . . In what might be a bit of tribute to the EPIC Martin Scorsese Copa Cabana walk through scene, "the video is a single tracking shot of King sauntering down the sidewalks of Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza."

Take a look because some of our longtime readers have been asking us to post more local hip-hop tracks:

More in a bit . . .

  2. So many tone-deaf people out there. All they need is a drum beat and somebody yelling over it and they’re happy.

  3. Nope not taking a look. They need to take their stupid shit mediocrity somewhere else besides the Plaza.

  6. Whats with that image? Did someone open a time capsule from the 1950's or something?

  8. This song is pretty damn good... I think the video works well with it. All one shot, wonder how many tries it took! The reactions from the pedestrians are classic! Makes for an entertaining music video.

  9. Love this mix of 1950's style, mixed with city kid rap. I think this just made my day perfect! I want to hear more like this!

  10. Digging the video's 50's inspired visuals and vibes. Is that some doo-wop undertones I'm picking up? I'm loving the fusion. As to the guy who said "Nope not taking a look. They need to take their stupid shit mediocrity somewhere else besides the plaza," the last time I checked Kansas City is an artist friendly city that has a vast history from the jazz and R&B roots of 16th and Vine, to the recent filming of American Honey, and its ranking as one of the top burlesque cities in the United States. Perhaps it isn't them who "need to take their stupid shit mediocrity somewhere else besides the plaza," but you who need to educate yourself. Our City welcomes artists in all forms. #kcproud
