  5. I learned many years ago a person never leaves their garage door open anyone driving or walking by can come in and steal it or take inventory of what you have to come back later.

Even mowing your yard close the garage door a police man told me that many a citizen has mowed their yard and then when they go to put their mower up to see that the tools or whatever were stolen.

  6. Keeping your garage door closed makes it more difficult for burglars to figure out when you aren't home.

As for Brookside, two blocks from the ghetto is two blocks from the ghetto, even if the guy next door has a Porsche.

  7. I can't believe a tv station in a market this size would be reporting on a minor police case like this. Theyve actually done purse snatchings in the past. Local TV just follows the cops around, who tell them in PIO releases where to go get their pictures, and give them the necessary facts off their police reports. TV stations should be paying for the police PIO salaries. And the Scout camera system which doens't give drivers overhead sign warnings of tie ups....it just fills TV newscasts with video so they don't even have to put a helicopter up. Its not so bad for out of town owners who've laid off all the journalists who used to dig news.

I can't even believe Tony's running this stuff. Guess quantity over quality?

  9. Follow around, 4:27 ? It's maybe more of listening to police scanners and reading updates sent by PIOs.
Still puzzling to me when newsies race to crime scenes in supposedly 'high-crime' areas. Flashing cop/ambulance lights, yellow tape and standing, mike in hand, near as possible with the wash/rinse/repeat. Save the gas, stay at the studio, we can picture the rest.
