"Lenexa cops and their ministry of propaganda KCTV5 decided to “explain” the situation and provide a different angle of the arrest which you can watch here. Lenexa PD’s video begins at 1:40, and shows the take down from a different angle, but does not actually prove that the suspect punched the cop. Their supposed “proof” of that is a photo they’ve given to KCTV5 to upload of the suspects clenched fist. A photo of a clenched fist is not proof of anything – people may clench their fists because they are under immense stress, athletes do it so they don’t choke during important plays.
"Whether the suspect actually punched the cop or not becomes a more trivial matter when you consider the fact that the Lenexa PD, in association with KCTV5, actually uploaded a video of a female officer employing deadly and highly controversial choking techniques on a subdued suspect – all in an attempt to clear themselves of any wrongdoing. In John’s video, you can clearly see her arm wrapped around the suspects neck, as the female officer pulls as hard as she can one way, while the male officer grabs and pulls his legs the other way – all while the suspect is screaming in pain."

I think in this one, it is good to let all sides have their say, this could have ended a lot worse. Thankfully it did not and you have to give police and the camera guy credit for that. That's why cell phone cameras are useful.

ReplyDeleteWhat is so hard to understand about this incident. He was being arrested for having 20 Warrants, a suspended DL, and had marijuana in the car! He punched the cops as they were trying to arrest him, hitting one in the face. All bets are off and those cops will do whatever they need to do to protect themselves and take him into custody. Not sure what else they could've done in that case. They were calm and telling him to stop struggling and resisting. The dummy filming it claims he was told to him off but unfortunately didn't have that part on video - because it never happened!! This crazy world is all messed up when you judge the cops for trying to protect themselves against someone who has MADE the decision to fight them.

DeleteHow is he innocent? He was being placed under arrest for having warrants. At that point in time he wasn't being arrested for any other crime. He then chose to resist the arrest the officers. The officers then did exactly what they were taught/trained to do. It's funny how people want complain just to complain.

They wanted body cameras and in this case they got it, yet refuse to look at this objectively and see it for what it was. Everyone like to give their thoughts on police abuse but no one is saying what the cops should've done differently- because there isn't any other thing. He had 20 warrants for his arrest, he wasn't innocent. He didn't want to go to jail to answer for his crimes so HE not the officers brought the fight to them. This would not be a story he he just let them put the cuffs on.

ReplyDeleteI think this is not the guy you want as a police abuse poster child. It is true that police have charged a lot of people with assaulting an officer when they NEVER assaulted anyone. It is also true that the cops issued a illegal order to the individual recording the incident. With that said, if the average citizen was trying to detain a felon who was fighting it is most likely the culprit would land in the hospital. People are just not going to get smacked in the face without dealing with an extreme desire to kick some ass over it. Certainly you train officers to fight those flare ups, but ponder someone smacking your sister right in front of you and tell me you wouldn't have a hard time not stomping some ass.

How about this, don't have warrants, don't smoke dope, have a valid license and insurance, and don't fight the police. I've been pulled over plenty of times and never got my ass kicked. I've gotten out of tickets just by being polite. Why is this so hard to understand? Are there bad cops? Sure, but there are a lot of bad people out there as well. If you don't want to be "harassed"by the police, then Obey the law or don't call them. It's pretty simple. What always amazed me are those that hate the police are the same ones yelling the loudest when their shit gets stolen, somebody hits their car because the other driver is drunk, they're assaulted or robbed, then the police can't get there fast enough to save their asses. I honestly believe that these douchebags are the same ones that would stand there while some girl gets raped and murdered but would do nothing to help because at the end of the day, they have no balls. If they were gonna blow smoke they would at least make sure their ducks were in a row before going there and in this case they did not control all of the video.
