TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY 20% HOMICIDE SPIKE OVER DECEPTIVE ELECTION SEASON LAST YEAR CONFIRMED!!!

A recent gunshot victim has died according to Kansas City police and that contributes another stat to our staggering local homicide count.

Unofficially, counting a recent vehicular homicide as well, KCMO now records 54 MURDERS SO FAR COMPARED WITH 44 AT THIS TIME LAST YEAR.

To wit . . .

WHAT'S THE PLAN NOW GIVEN THAT HIGHLY TOUTED EFFORTS FROM KANSAS CITY AUTHORITIES DIDN'T LAST VERY LONG AFTER ELECTION SEASON?!?!

Numbers games are always interesting but our blog community noticed that reported shootings and weekend gunfire ringing out and documented by social media never really declined last year, even when the local stats were more encouraging.

To be fair, amid all the Kansas City shooting, there is no magic bullet that will solve every single violent trend confronting this town. Maybe increased reliance on community policing and neighborhood involvement is the way to go, some tout code enforcement while others believe that stricter punishment from judges is the key to reducing crime.

For TKC, the most important part is that the conversation continues in the context of FREE SPEECH given that so many local elected officials simply worked to spin numbers that suited their needs instead of thinking about the root causes of the problem . . . Mayor Sly, the TKC blog community is looking at you.

Check relevant links and see if our community can make any sense of this issue that so many other media outlets ignore or simply report out of ritual rather than any real concern.

  3. When you look at the breakdown the issue this year is domestic violence and child abuse homicides. KC had 4 Domestic Violence homicides all of last year and has already recorded 8 this year. There have also been 3 child abuse homicides in 2015. Those numbers are the ones we should be looking at because ideally they are the most preventable as opposed to a drive by shooting.

  4. How about another Rock the Block since those things really work.

  5. If Chief is satisfied with KCMO being in top ten for violent crimes in US, no question that he needs to go.

  6. 54 dead.....how does that break down by race ?

ol Flint is betting 45 of those are "midnight black".

That would be about 83.33% by hilly math. Sounds like that 13/83 number.

such a shame that KC has not done the right thing in confronting these stats. Those domestic violence numbers are a good place to start. we need to start standing up for women. Thanks to whoever posted that.

At some point we're going to have to look at all of the racism and lack of justice along with police killings if we really want to properly address this issue from all perspectives. That is the conversation that the powers that be don't wan to have.

  11. Don't worry, having a Black police chief reduced crime and is a sign of world peace. 'Ol Daryle will be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize simply because he's the first Black police chief in Kansas City. Would he deserve it? No. Did he earn it? No. But it sure is nice to slap butts with real statesmen and other notables, even if his ticket to the dance is printed on a BIG Chief tablet in crayon. It's authentic, right?

  12. "Racism"??? It's not "racist" to say that most of the crime being committed is done by blacks. It's just a fact. Stop throwing out the race card every five minutes and take a look at the real problem. There is NO personal responsibility being taken among certain areas of the "black community" these days - and I use quotations marks because it is YOUR phrase, not mine. Stop blaming everyone else and DO something about it. Throwing out the race card does not stop black children from being gun downed, does not stop rampant absentee fathers, does not stop constantly sucking off the government teat. All you want to do is blame everyone else instead of sucking it up and actually doing something to change the status quo. And THAT, my friend, is a very tired story nowadays. Bitch all you want about racism....nothing will change until you do something POSITIVE to make change. The rest is nothing but idle crap. You made the bed, sleep in it.

  14. Other than the Jim McDonald unsolved murder a month or so ago who cares? They are all black and since black people obviously don't care why should we? As for poor Mr. McDonald his murder should be the highest priority. A productive member of society we all know was killed by the black animal.

  15. You think those murders in the hood don't affect you but they do. You are wrong for believing such ignorance.

  17. Fuck NIGGERS! Is there anything simpler or more pure that that obvious statement?? Nah, just fuck NIGGERS!!

  18. 6:32 I'm not ignorant at all how black violence affects us all. I've posted about the incalculable cost of the black race here before. We pay extraordinary sums of money to not live by the violent black race. We pay for all that entails. Schools, roads, fuel, new city government's, taxes. The list is endless. I can link high gas prices to black people. I would love to live near work and walk there but can't. Know why? Black people. Black people at why Lawrence, Paola, and Louisburg will be suburbs of KC someday. It's so people don't have to live with the violent black race. I would love to live near Loose Park. Know why I don't? Black people. You think I'm sending my kids to those schools? He'll no. And I can't do a single thing about their violence either other than hope they kill each other faster than they reproduce, which we all know ain't happening. But people can dream. Only if black people were better shots and our surgeons not so good.

  19. Does this mean NOVA, Aim Fo Peace, COMBAT, Ad Hoc, KCPS programs, anti-violence marches, prayer vigils, candlelight vigils, teddy bear memorials, commemorative t-shirts, assorted reverends, community activists and Alonzo aren't working. I'll be damned.

  21. Here's some real talk for you RealTalkKC

It will take a strong black leader to stand up in both public and in the privacy of the black community meetings and tell the truth. The blame the white man game is killing you and if you want to stop the killing you must look within your community for answers.

I'm white and I care whether you want to believe it or not. I'm also frustrated with your way of responding to what is clearly a cultural problem within your community. You are killing you.

    Stop blaming whites.
    Start holding your own accountable.
Start helping authorities identify the perpetrators.
Tell leaders who shift blame to step aside.
Band together against drug sales and use.
You can solve this yourselves if you have the will.
If you fail to report crimes you are just as guilty.
Every time someone dies and you know who killed them you helped murder them.

If you take no action besides watching more and more people die there will be a special place in hell for you no matter how many times you go to church or praise God and say you are blessed.

How much do Black lives matter to you? Talk is cheap.
