TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA RESIDENTS BESEECH CINEMARK TO CANCEL 'STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON' SHOWING!!!

Once again our blog community breaks FIRST WORD of a Kansas City controversy with racial undertones focused on the embattled Country Club Plaza, a movie theater and fear of violent teen flash mobs.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA RESIDENTS ARE SOON TO START PLEADING WITH CINEMARK TO CANCEL PLANS TO SHOW RAP MUSIC EPIC "STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON" FOR FEAR OF ATTRACTING MORE VIOLENT TEEN FLASH MOBS!!!

Credit where its due . . .

An overwhelming police presence has kept the Plaza quieter this Summer as violence is now focused in Westport and around the P&L District near the CBE . . ..

However, fear of a controversial rap music movie is starting to escalate as the Aug. 14th movie release date approaches.

Critics are lauding the movie that could be one of the most thoughtful examinations of race relations, independent music and artistic protest in years . . .

Here's the extended Red Band trailer that offers an extended insight into the premise of the movie . . .

Still, it's not discourse on social justice and artistic merit that frightens some Country Club Plaza denizens . . .

"It's the crowds. It's just a fact that crowd control in front of the Cinemark theater and their marquee has ALWAYS been a problem. In fact, the crowd control issue hasn't been solved with curfews and it's really a reflection of one location making life harder for all the surrounding businesses and residents. I try to avoid the Cinemark altogether but I think this movie has the potential to ruin some of the progress that police and Highwoods have fought so hard to achieve. The answer is simple. Cancel the movie . . . That would be the safest course of action for everyone involved. It's something that young people should see in the company of their parents anyway and not just a show where they get dropped off."

Not so long ago remember we captured police using a bull horn to move along crowds in front of the Cinemark Theater and that was after the curfew was established . . .

TKC FACT CHECK: Two weeks away . . . The movie is yet to be listed on the Cinemark schedule of coming attractions and residents nearby the Plaza hope their complaints will cause the movie showing to be cancelled with little fanfare or controversy.

Of course TKC is founded upon constitutionally protected Freedom of Speech and Expression but the community complaints deserve to be noted and hopefully this discussion helps to make locals aware that fear of violent teen flash mobs on the Plaza persists and could be incited by a dramatic interpretation of what some people called "The world's most dangerous group" and the upcoming rap music movie tribute.

Developing . . .

  1. Beeseech?

    Really, are they royalty?

I have to admit that I'm intrigued by the movie. Maybe the youngsters from the plaza can go see the movie with their parents in Overland Park. Would that make everyone happy? Damn, the people in KCMO can be critical to a fault.

Your baggage with the labels pasted on

There's no business like show business
Traveling through the country is so thrilling
Standing out in front on opening nights
Smiling as you watch the benches filling

  3. It's really sad that blacks have to be coddled, fed, clothed and given an allowance by the government. That we have to babysit their children, provide entertainment and take special precautions that they don't attack others and destroy property when they are out in public. That blacks can be counted on to make a spectacle of themselves, looked on as baffoons and their actions be looked upon as typical and expected. And that none of them accept responsibility, none of their leader speak out to correct their brothers and sisters but blame everyone else for all this while asking that even more be provided to them. Sad

    3. Buffoons*

Let's be honest now. You're most likely a middle aged white man with a small penis, or a middle aged white woman who's married to a man with a baby dick. That's the real cause of your irrational hatred of an entire group of people.

    4. Blacks dont take responsibility??? How about whites dont take responsibility. Color has nothing to do with it. I see trashy grown ass white people that are drunk and belligerent at all times of the day but you crackers call it red neck and accept it as a part of your society. Kansas city is a predominantly black city. Let's cancel the movie to keep the niggers away..... Way to go cinemark. You honkys better hope that cancelling this movie doesn't stir up feelings of racial bias and make people want to act as accused of acting. Dumb crackers

Im a white female women and some of the post im reading are just plane dumb. The movie is going to be a great movie. Its showing a few of the best rappers from the 90s and now. With the struggle they went through. Its not the people in the movies fault that there are stupid people out there that ruin ut for others. Its not just blacks its whites mexicans latinos extra that go out and do stupid things like riots and breaking the law. People point out blacks cause they still think like the early 1900s. ITS THE 2000s PEOPLE!!! Everyones equal! Maybe if people would stop judging each other so much cause their not same color we wouldn't have all the problems we do today!

  25. I heard the Chiefs did not want Arrowhead used for a country music concert. With 50,000+ country music fans there was bound to be shootings, stabbings and brawls. But surprise, surprise it is possible for 50,000 intoxicated people to congregate without violence. If you had 50,000 black kids at an Arrowhead concert can you imagine the carnage?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, if there is going to be carnage we should have 100,000 black kids to arrowhead. We can clean up a lot of crime and save the tax payers millions on entitlements.

It's a shame to see so many racists making their stupid statements known. I'll say it again here and now, if you don't sign your name to your shit then you are nothing but a coward and what you say is meaningless. As for this movie, sure, security is a concern but that's true of all movies. Look at the news, somebody got shot up at an Amy Schumer movie for chrissakes!

This movie can be a chance for people to talk about our culture, instead some of you just want to hide behind your keyboard and throw stones with no real meaning. But your words are empty since you don't have the courage to back them up.

  46. Here is something to think about TKC. Why should police protect the purveyors of this movie. NWA glamorized hating and killing police, I don't think police should be asked to protect their profits. Let ice cube come down and keep the theater safe, I'm not risking my neck to do it.

As for NWA, this movie will kick fucking ass. Can't wait to see it at the plaza or anywhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Police should not be provided by KC, and maybe not by the theater. That is essentially profiling the audience. Banning the movie is presumptuous. Stay away if you have fear and distrust. The refusal to run this movie would likely be problematic. If even only a few responded ugly to a ban, race relations are harmed because the broad brushes will strike.

  55. My brother lived in an apartment on the Plaza. He was robbed in broad daylight at gunpoint by a group of "Youths". The "Youth" with the gun was maybe 14 years old. A couple of weeks later he spotted the same group of "Youths" going into the Plaza theater. In effect, my brother paid for their movie tickets.

  56. It's not racism. It's obvious. Pay attention. I see shootings and fights every weekend in Westport. I see constant news stories about violence in the same area, guess what, rarely, if ever is it a case of white people acting like morons. It's blacks every time. After awhile it's no longer a coincidence. It's no longer racism. It's just people living up to stereotypes. It's pathetic and frustrating. I live downtown, I get stopped 4-7 times a day by bums and cracked out looking people, guess how many are white? Maybe 1 in 20. You ever notice large groups of white people loitering in the intersection of Westport in the weekends? No that's because they don't, they are spending money in the bars, not just standing around waiting to cause trouble or act like buffoons. Black people as a whole, not all but most, are the most disrespectful, uncivilized, pathetic group of people that exist. I've heard people say Mexicans are, that's bs, most Mexican families are very hardworking and family oriented, I think they deserve half the jobs they take from lazy, unappreciating white people. I hate to be so blunt and bigoted but after so long of watching the same bs come from a race that the stereotype is true for 9 out of 10 individuals, it's hard not to say something. I feel bad for the nice, well mannered blacks out there that have to live in the bs shadow that they're peers cast over them. I truly do.
