ReplyDeleteNone of the news coverage points out the key fact that the U.S. Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth is not in Kansas, the state where Brownback and his crackpot legislature have jurisdiction. it is on what the lawyers call a federal enclave, where, under the U.S. Constitution, only federal law applies. It's one of the most secure prisons in the entire country, maybe THE most secure. Can you imagine the Obama administration sending these guys there for that reason, and just to rub Brownback's nose in it? Fuck yes. How many votes will that cost? Close to zero.
