And so, there's a lot of talk about this town being tolerant and accepting but this recent KANSAS CITY TRANSGENDER MURDER SPIKE demonstrates that THE DISPROPORTIONATE NUMBER OF TRANSGENDER AND LGBT LOCALS GETTING KILLED runs contrary to that politically correct notion.

33-year-old Jasmine Collins...KCPD originally described the murder as a conflict over a haircut and a pair of shoes. A suspect has been charged. Local advocates are concerned about whether police are correctly identifying the victims, and whether these murders are being investigated as hate crimes.

The most recent homicide was that of Tamara Dominguez, just last weekend. She was run over three times by an SUV in Kansas City’s Historic Northeast neighborhood.
“When folks first started to report, based off police reports, on who she was, they were using her name assigned as birth, they were using male pronouns,” Randall Jenson says, of the Kansas City Anti-Violence Project. Mr. Jenson is an idiot!
Police spokesman Tye Grant says they’ve investigated these crimes like any other crime. He added that the police can only go by legal documents to determine someone’s gender, or interviews with family.
Whose been charged with Jasmine Collins death? Tia Townsel – a cisgender woman. Apparently, the murder was sparked over an argument about a haircut and a pair of shoes.
In an area north of downtown known to everyone in Kansas City as the Bottoms, near the old airport still used for private jets and private offices, is a low-income building called the Holiday Apartments. It was once a hotel but is now known to anyone in street-based sex work as the home of drug addicts and prostitutes, often both. It was also home to 33-year-old Jasmine Collins.
Tamara Dominguez was run over by an SUV after exiting it around 3AM in the Northeast area of KC. Why was "she" in a SUV at 3AM with someone other than "her" partner? Well, I don't know for sure, but I'll bet that "she" was a sex-worker like Jasmine Collins above.
IN SUMMARY, LGBT PEOPLE ARE NOT UNDER ATTACK IN KC, ANY MORE THAN ANY OTHER PERSON WHO ENGAGES IN A HIGH-RISK SEX WORKER LIFESTYLE.

This article is so nonsensical as to defy all logic.
First, what does Dominguez' brother referring to him as Jesus have to do with him being run over three times? The fact that Domingez was run over has no bearing on whether his family refer to him as Jesus. It seems that whether he was run over or not, his family still referred to him as Jesus.
Dominguez being run over has absolutely nothing to do with his brother referring to him as Jesus which is his legal, given name.
Second, he is not a she for any purpose whether he played dress up or self-identified as a woman. He was still very much a man. The family has every right to bury their loved one as a man, which is how he was born and died.
Transgender is just a glorified term for transvestite. Funerals are typically for the families benefit. It's a personal choice and final rite for loved ones. If the family wants to remember their loved one as a male, then no outsider should have any say-so in how that memorial is carried out. A boyfriend is not a husband.
Reading these comments has significantly improved my understanding of why most people who don't live here consider Kansas City a complete shithole ... even though they usually think it must be in Kansas.

Thus, all the references to the victim's family infighting over the funeral, whether the victim was a he or she, whether the police discriminate against transgenders because the victim's driver license indicated male although he identified as female, etc., etc., ad nauseum!
Contrary to TKC's contention that a local radio station was using the death to promote itself, it's actually the LGBT advocacy groups that are milking this death for as much mileage as they can get! Unwrap yourself from that rainbow flag TKC.

ReplyDeleteI don't read the star anymore, their site is such a mess of advertisments. I read TKC every day and so do a lot of my friends. Ask around and you'll see that people are more reliant on social media for news than newspapers.
