KCPS Drop And Refund 'Most' Pre-K Fees

After parents cried foul over surprise costs for early education in the provisionally accredited Kansas City Public Schools . . . The district worked to reverse the BAD decision. Read the fine print and you decide . . .

KCPS to cancel and refund most pre-K fees

Kansas City Public Schools is placing the fee schedule for pre–K services on hold for the 2015-2016 school year. The KCPS Head Start program, Early Childhood Education program and Missouri Preschool Program will suspend billing and provide a refund for parents that provided a deposit during enrollment for this school year. The fee schedule for Border Star, Harold Holliday and Hale Cook Elementary pre–K programs will remain in effect as it has in the past.

Moving forward, KCPS representatives will ask for community representatives to work in partnership with the district over the coming months to do a thorough review of all of the KCPS Pre-K program expenses and sources of revenue. The findings and recommendations for a high quality affordable program will then be included in the KCPS Master Plan for the 2016-2017 school year and beyond.

Interim Superintendent Allan Tunis thanked the many parents and patrons of the district who brought their concerns forward and acted on behalf of all parents in our community.

“High quality early learning programs are a critical first step in helping each child be ready for success in Kindergarten,” Tunis said. “I look forward to working with our families to plan for an affordable high quality program.”

  1. Naming a school after a NIGGER, is like naming a police station after a serial killer. Imagine the Ted Bundy Neighborhood Police Station, or the Jeff Dahlmer Memorial Police Building??

  2. It's a better much use of taxpayer money, and much more likely to return dividends later, than the billions dumped into entitlements and the prison system.

That said, my family determined that pre-K education was important to us and WE paid the cost to provide this for our children. We didn't demand it be paid for by someone else or complain that it was unfair that we didn't get it for free, we simply took care of our own responsibilities.

  3. Better idea. Let's just cancel KCPS and refund property taxes.

  4. Bend over single tax payers and home owners. You just got nine yards in your ass from your school district. Enjoy paying to raise those bastard kids.

  5. Aren't ALL KCPS schools Title 1 A schools? If they are, then No Child Left Behind pays for the pre-K programs. Now there it isn't an unlimited amount, but is usually like 16 kids per class. And they screen the kids so the "worst" (for lack of a better term, the lowest scoring) get in first. I don't understand this at all.

10:08 obviously is retarded, and would have been the first one admitted for free. They didn't get it in the ass from the school district they got it in the ass from GEORGE W BUSH you stupid fuck.

You need only look at 10:08 to see what a dumbfuck America will be without educated individuals.
