Kansas City Soon To Spend Big Money To Fix Old And Busted Bartle Hall Roof

Probably worth it but A MILLION BUCKS on a major downtown Kansas City repair project is going mostly unreported.

Here's FIRST word of the cash soon to be approved and reminding us that every bit of overhyped Downtown development is going to need EXPENSIVE MAINTENANCE for years after the celebration and whether or not the economic benefits live up to expectations.

Checkit:

Ordinance #150667: Authorizing the Director of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities to enter into an agreement with JR _ Company to provide roofing replacement and repairs to Bartle Hall A, B, D and E roofs at the Convention and Entertainment Facilities; and estimating expenses in the amount $1,402,223.00.

  4. Not sure why this is even being reported. Just maintenance, as far as I'm concerned. Would you report on me getting my roof re-shingled?

  6. JR Company has the unions up in arms over prevailing wage violations. but has been lining Sly's pockets for so many years that City Staff has been instructed to ignore it even though using them violates State policies.
