Check it: Independence police: Officers shot, killed armed carjacking suspect in exchange of gunfire
Fox4 has the deets: On Tuesday police responded to a call regarding an armed carjacking in the area of 24 Highway and Susquehanna in Independence. An officer was just two blocks away when he heard the call, so once the suspect’s vehicle passed him he began pursuing the vehicle in his squad car. Eventually the suspect stopped and exited his vehicle north of Kentucky on River, where police say he pointed a gun and began shooting at officers. Officers returned fire, fatally striking the suspect.
