KSHB has completely gone down the tubes with the departures of Mark Clegg, Ryan Kath, Garret Hake, and anyone else with even a modicum of pretense as a serious actual news reporter.

ReplyDeleteAs a previous comment stated, Clegg, Kath, Haake departed. Jadiann Thompson never quite fit in here, and since she wasn't made the prime anchor, left for greener pastures.
As for Dubill, if they're showing her the door, as opposed to her leaving on her own terms, the management is nuts. Yes, local news is entertainment anymore and largely a joke, but Dubill connects with all those soccer moms precisely because she's married with kids, very friendly, and not a thin tan bimbo. Management should pray she signs a long contract.
Why is there jouralism curriculum anymore. In a market of 2.5 million non of the ratings hoe stations want newsies. I'm suprised they aren't recruiting at modeling agencies. Hell, half of these on air bimbo now can't even read two sentences without stumbling all over themselves.

ReplyDeleteThis "cryptic" message from Christa Dubill may just be a genuine thank you to her audience, in the wake of Jadiann Thompson's departure.
ReplyDeleteJadiann should have been a field reporter when she came here, to learn the city and and it's characters, instead she was sent right in to fill an anchor slot. And it backfired on management.
On the other hand, who's doing it the right way? At the same station, you have reporter Brendaliss Gonzalez who is honing her skills and no doubt will have a successful long-term career, including anchor if she wants it, by mastering her craft. Sometimes, young attractive women are pushed into anchor positions by complicit ratings-obsessed management too early and it winds up hurting the station and the employee.
Dubill and Lezak, and now MikeM, should stick together to build a strong team and watch each other's back from the knifethrowers.
I watch 41 because of dubill and lezak, as for Mike M, hes a dbag! I hope they send his ass packing for the 2nd time!!!!
