TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! FREEDOM, INC. VOTERS GUIDE STARTS THE KANSAS CITY GOTV WEEKEND!!!

Right now, in the interest of public information and election discussion, we have FIRST LOOK at the Freedom, Inc. Voters Guide hitting the streets of the urban core this weekend.

FREEDOM, INC. STARTS GET OUT THE VOTE WEEKEND!!!

The mailer is targeted mainly to "Freedom Wards" on Kansas City's East side but these endorsements will resonate throughout the city.

Take a look:

Here's 2nd District At-Large candidate Teresa Loar getting hug from the former Mayor, current Congressman and icon in Kansas City's inner city Emmanuel Cleaver . . . This last minute embrace is a savvy move from supporters of Teresa Loar that's worth a look for all informed voters.

Here's a look at the Freedom, Inc. picks for the 3rd who securely hold the lead in fundraising and endorsements.

Note the endorsement of "Girl Power" in the 4th where Freedom, Inc's impact could shape the future of Midtown Kansas City politics as well. Also note 5th District At-Large candidate Lee Barnes, Jr. looking to connect with neighborhood residents.

In the 5th, we hear that Ken Bacchus has been making a renewed effort to "walk the district" and his connection with Jackson County legislator and Royals baseball legend Frank White is worth touting.

In the 6th Freedom, Inc. focuses on Democratic Party connections with their endorsements of Councilman Scott Taylor and Missouri House Rep. Kevin McManus.

And here's the Freedom, Inc. Ballot.

Notice an EPIC election day push against Judge Wilcher who is a target of the group given his controversial rulings in housing court.

Final page reminds us of the group's history as one of the longest standing political advocacy organizations in the urban core.

Again, this mailer offers a preview for this Get Out The Vote weekend as locals take the next few days to make their final election push.

Now you decide . . .

Comments

  1. In the 4th, this might make the difference for Shields.

That's the one that this ballot could really turn around.

Glover should have worked harder to get support. This ballot might lead to him getting ousted.

  2. Just a simple question/observation. Are there any white people left in Kansas City????

  3. There is more power in sanity than insanity.

  4. Thanks for the info. It helps me decide whom not to vote for.

  5. Don't vote for any Mayor, leave it blank.

  6. Richard Charles Tolbert6/19/15, 4:48 PM

I am no longer member of Freedom Inc. But I speak up for them because I owe them a personal debt of gratitude for their support of naming the new police campus after Leon Jordan.

While I don't agree with all of their endorsements, I note that this is the first time, I'm aware of, that they have opposed a Municipal Court Judge, Todd Wilcher of the Housing Court. Even Judge Wilcher, himself, writes in the CALL Newspaper that he welcomes a constructive discussion about the issues of the Housing Court.

I thank Freedom Inc. for advancing a needed conversation.

  7. Herb Sih to step down from Economic Development Corporation board

    Goodbye!

  8. Sly's likely a technological ignoramus like most of City Hall and the tech sharks con him constantly into all kinds of bad deals we'll all regret.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Where's lazy Tony? You'd think he would be first on the Sih deal. Not us.

  10. Friday afternoon siesta isn't over yet 5:22

  11. The Royals are thinking of you, Tony. Selena Gomez is in town for Big Slick.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Big slick lowest attendece ever this year , nobody gives a shit about those guys. time to cancel.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Shields wins it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Looks like with that list of candidates that "grift, con, steal and deal" will be in good hands after the election.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Gee bear who can you fuck with now that Byron is gone?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Forward KC has cleaned up its act and that is good. I think them going more mainstream is good. I agree they could make the difference in the shields race.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Does Freedom Inc support the firing of Troy Schulte?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Rev Deadbeat with his arm around the campaign finance fraud candidate. Too bad Cleaver thinks a city council position is a jobs program for middle-aged fired women who can't get a job anywhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 6:51, Byron is not gone, he has played this game before. It will increase the bullshit as always. He is very easy to pick up, already he has popped off. He is a sad man. Take that back, he is not nor ever has been a man.

  20. I haven't that many niggers in one place since I watched a Tarzan movie.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The Bear can draw out the sheep shagger......have confidence.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I see crooks and thieves on the list, though not all....

I'm voting for Hodges... after all the unethical things Loar did in office last time? City's legal fund can't support her after Funkhouser, Brooks, and the other before them, including Loar. I thought we wanted NEW blood and no more "crooked" council members. Why bring back a known one that saved herself by wearing a wire and turning her buddies in crime over to the feds????? Wake up, KCMO!!!!!
