Here's a bit more evidence that Kansas City Mayor Sly is entering his LAME DUCK TERM and facing stronger opposition than anyone in this po'dunk town is willing to admit.
To wit . . .
THE FREEDOM, INC. SLATE OF COUNCIL CANDIDATES HAS MORE CREDIBILITY, COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND MOMENTUM THAN MAYOR SLY'S FALTERING THREE AMIGOS!!!
Let's do the math . . .
In 3 our of 4 contests, Freedom, Inc. candidates have a distinct cash, polling and campaign worker advantage. The 5th District race is too close for anybody to call but Ken Bacchus has been campaigning harder than we've seen in years and he'll be calling upon DECADES of experience and connections as the June election season countdown moves closer.
Meanwhile . . . Council Dude Scott Wagner is simply looking to take Mayor Pro Tem in order to put himself in a better position 36 months from now, Incumbent Dick Davis is down more than 10 points and Council Dude Glover is in the fight of his political life with a longtime foe and leader of the Kansas City Lady Power movement . . .
Just about every other newsie hack in Kansas City is scared to make this juxtaposition but Kansas City voters should look for Freedom, Inc. to flex their political muscles against the Mayor at the outset of his term which already looks more troubled than any of his fans will concede.

ReplyDeleteDown to about 3 weeks and these candidates that should be stating their positions and presenting their "solutions" are still exhibiting the fact that they don't have a clue. Heather Hall would not know what a budget looked like if it hit her in the head. "Katy" Shields will return to her old corrupt ways and ignore the northland like she did in all her previous tenures on the council. It is too bad Sly has no competition, because if he did then turnout would likely be much higher than expected.
