  1. COMBAT Shields' Corruption5/29/15, 7:37 AM

COMBAT beneficiary agencies can tell what its like to deal with Katheryn Shields when she is in a position of power. First she cuts off your funds, because she thinks there 'is not enough money to go around. Second, the beneficiary agencies are called one-by-one to meetings where she and "an aide" explains to the agency could be funded IF they raised or contributed certain funds to a political committee.

  2. Instead of make-work jobs "canvassing" neighborhoods to tell residents who aren't involved in violence or crime about not being involved in violence and crime, COMBAT needs to spend time around 2:00am in the neighborhoods where the vast majority of crime and even homicides take place and get residents there to cooperate with the cops and become a part of the solution to their own problems.
Murders in KCMO are about where they were at this point three years ago, and the number of shooting victims who have been saved by EMTs and the ER docs and nurses is higher than ever.
And the COMBAT tax continues to generate $15-20 million year after year.
An audit might shed some light on where all the money goes for so little result.
    Who, exactly, is accountable?
