Reality TV Comes To Kansas City
Next Friday and Saturday, May 22 and May 23, LA reality tv crew will be stationed at Stanford and Sons. The new club at 119th and Metcalf, Rosana Square. The folks who brought you shows like 'The Kardashians' and a new network show 'The Bucket List' will be shooting everything funny including the audience both nights. The club has Steve Hytner from Seinfeld, he was Kenny Bania on the show, as the headliner.
How did it happen? The producers in LA saw the animated cartoon that Steve Kramer put together on the Glazers and the club. It is on youtube. "Stanfords animated pilot.' It did well in Montreal for the international comedy festival a couple years ago. The Los Angeles production company happened to have a film crew that did work for them in Kansas City. They spoke and were encouraged by the KC team to do a pilot on Stanfords. The West Coast people wanted a show about a wild and crazy family run business so it landed on Stanfords who just happened to run a comedy club.
They did screen tests on the main guys, me, my brother Jeff and my dad Stan. It was what they are wanting to do a show on. They also did staff and some comics . . .
In fact they shot me and TJ Miller talking on the phone yesterday about his being unable to come to KC next week due to shooting more on his new movie, 'The Dead Pool' with Ryan Reynolds. TJ is a big star now with HBO lead in Silicon Valley, Transformers 4, and voice star of two academy award nominated movies this year, How To Train Your Dragon and the one that one best animated film, Big Hero Six from Disney. The guy is busy. We are friends, so he was kind enough to do the funny call to me. The LA team has hired actors and writers already. So we are in hopes this works. The main portion will be shot next weekend with a live show, live action and hopefully many of 'you guys' there to have fun and support the show. It coincides with Stanfords adding on a new patio and another bar area and being a full entertainment center with live music, 2 for 1 drinks late nite and more...fun. Staying open til 2 am.
We feel honored to have this shot. Love to have a tv series from Kansas City that anyone that lives here can come and see or be part of, that would be nice. We practice more this week with comedy hot guy Andrew Santino who starred and hosted Punk'd, was the star of ABC's Mixology, Red Carpet on Justin Beiber Roast and now has a series with Tom Arnold, Sin City Saints. A young hot comedy actor all week this week. Hope to see you there. Fingers crossed.

ReplyDeleteEase up on Craig. Bruce Jenner comment, that's some funny shit right there. Behind all of Craig's Bullshit is a super genuine person. Of course getting through all the BS might cost you a bit and you may end up sharing your whore girlfriend with him. But no matter what experience you have with my friend Craig, when you look back on it, wether it be after you do your time, or after the herpes clears up, for some reason you smile. ReplyDeleteWell the hating here was a bit lower. Actually Craig is a handsome dude and would be a great tv face. He does get the ladies, always did. He's funny so is his family, all the yelling I'm sure. Would be good for them and KC. Hope it all works out.
