TKC Campaign School: Nobody Likes Council Dude Dick Davis BUT Negative Campaigning Doesn't Work In A Low Turnout Election!!!

It's with great sadness that our TKC blog community realizes that we know more about local politics than just about 99% of the d-bags participating in this election.

While so many political hopefuls have been bouncing around jobs, hoping to find a new career and then using a political run as a last resort . . . We've been pounding away at the local discourse like it was the prom queen . . . Gross analogy, sorry.

Anyhoo . . .

Here's a fun fact that consultants don't want tell desperate candidates . . .

NEGATIVE ADVERTS AGAINST DICK DAVIS DON'T WORK IN A LOW TURNOUT ELECTION BECAUSE THEY GIVE HIM NAME RECOGNITION FOR AN OTHERWISE DISENGAGED VOTING PUBLIC!!!

- Firefighters paying for this ad work from the same consultants who are cutting their throat on right to work legislation isn't really a big deal either because it's inside baseball that's just makes for talk show fodder anyhoo . . .

- Tax fighting . . . Same thing.

- Endorsements might help but the secret ballot thankfully saves us from having to vote the way our bosses tell us . . .

Here's the only redeeming quality about a low turnout election . . .

Kansas City politics normally takes place with backroom or behind the scenes deals and with fewer voters out there this time around . . . It's the candidates who are best able to smile and tap dance for the tiny electorate who will be the most successful. Good luck with that . . . What's to be sure is that we won't see most of these folks for another 4 years.
