It should be the responsibility of the City Clerks office to conduct background verification of ALL the candidates. I don't this it happens. The City Clerk just gathers signatures and put the candidates on the ballot. It's a shame there is not some type of verification process to assure the candidates are being truthful when they sign documents. There are other current candidates that deem disqualification for taxes, residency, and transparency. I'm assuming that since others can't go out and hire big lawyers, it will be swept under the rug. Since some candidates are being targeted for scrutiny, its time for the City Clerk to conduct background verifications on all of the current candidates on the June 23rd ballot. I bet there will be more seats vacant to be filled than expected. But, no one wants to do their job, typical Kansas City. When is anyone going to call out the City Clerk?
