TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY STREETCAR WILL FEATURE NEWLY DESIGNED RESTAURANT CARRIAGE!!!

The Kansas City toy train streetcar has finally developed a solution that will certainly quiet complaints from local restaurants about the torturous construction process.

To wit . . .

THE KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN IS GOING TO GET A DINING CAR SO COMMUTERS CAN BYPASS DOWNTOWN RESTAURANTS ALTOGETHER AND EAT ON THE GO!!!

Expect push back on this but downtown restauranteurs won't have much room to complain because (As AWESOME TKC TIPSTERS REPORTED FIRST) the construction process is driving most of them out of business.

Any Downtown Kansas City restaurant biz that survives the construction won't have much pull with City Hall given that their protest has went as far as a sit-down meeting with The Pitch in order to vent their grievances.

It gets better . . .

TKC SECURED AN INTERVIEW WITH THE INCOMING KANSAS CITY STREETCAR RESTAURANT DIRECTOR!!!

Charles U. Farley will be the Kansas City Streetcar Authority Food and Beverage manager and he seems excited about the opportunity.

"This is the next step in making our Kansas City streetcar transit part of a vibrant and forward thinking downtown," Farley said. "Some say that people won't 'park and ride' or use the streetcar as part of their every day routine and our dining car is going to challenge those perceptions."

The KC Transit Authority Streetcar restaurant is soon to hold a contest to name the facility but already they're planning after hours functions and reserving space.

"I think you'll find this is part of a sustainable transportation model that will bring Kansas City's transit into the future by harkening to the fond memories that some people have for glory days of transit. We're taking the best from the past and making it new again," Farley said.

Now . . . Best of all . . .

FIRST ON TKC!!! WE'VE GOT FIRST LOOK AT PRELIMINARY DESIGNS FOR KANSAS CITY'S STREETCAR RESTAURANT CARRIAGE!!!

Take a look:

The motif reminds us of classic a classic Kansas City diner with a modern touch.

The upcoming Kansas City streetcar restaurant looks like it'll be something unique and could differentiate our local offerings from other metro areas that are now giving up on rail transit

Already, City Hall is soon to start taking applications for employment aboard the Kansas City streetcar restaurant and insiders tell us that the first job fair will be held in the 18th and Vine District either in the Gem Theater or the city subsidized American Jazz Museum.

Credit where it's due, this Kansas City streetcar restaurant is a bold move that offers a new taste of the creative thinking that has powered local transit thus far.

Developing . . .

  1. You know Tony, they only need to look at what happened to the hash house diner in Union Station if they want to see the fate of this effort.

I applaud them for trying to do something new but that resaturant is going to have to make a lot of money for the $100 million train to break even.

  2. This changes everything! I can get ham and eggs AND a cup of coffee on my 6 block ride to work???

Will they be exclusively serving crow?

"Charles U. Farley will be the Kansas City Streetcar Authority Food and Beverage manager"....and for local digs, he's already picked out a van down by the river!

"The KC Transit Authority Streetcar restaurant is soon to hold a contest to name the facility".......My entry is BOONDOGGLE'S

  5. April fools aside I think we need to be model Atlanta's new toy train so it pays for itself.

    Atlanta Journal-Constitution March 31, 1015.

Atlanta streetcar to remain free for rest of the year .....

At one point, city officials expected the $1 fare to cover about a quarter of the operating costs, with the rest coming from federal grants, city taxes and contributions.

Reed said Tuesday that the anticipated revenue from fares in 2015 was about $300,000 — a fraction of its operating costs, which now hover around $4.8 million, up from the $3.2 million anticipated last year.

  6. This is exactly what a functioning pack of retarded monkeys will make a city look like when they go unchecked doing what ever they want to do, a city councilor in Milan Italy weeks before she leaves office as if that would be construed as a business event (she is a fucking nail tech by trade, I have to say International trade to her is like a retard writing with shit from her diaper on the walls) another Scott Wagner wheeling and dealing International trade in China using free us citizenship for investors, tax breaks for Burns & Mac and KCP&L rate hikes, and now a dining car on a street car that runs just a few city blocks???? Elections around the corner and most of these criminals will be re-elected because they are going to raise minimum wage to $15 an hour?? how many fast food and mom and pop shops will be closing behind that? try and find a dollar menu to feed your kids off of after that fiasco hits the wall. You people voting on party lines, color of skin, race etc .. make me fucking sick, its a shame we have to suffer for this sort of stupidity

The cuisine should include chitlings, greens and fried chicken so the thugs who will prey on the streetcar can eat a healthy balanced meal with the money the steal or extort from the tourists. Yes, I am a racist and an asshole but the streetcar will still be thug magnet.

    ReplyDelete
  8. What are these people smoking? Why can't they just fix the streets and sewers?

Its like they think there's an unlimited supply of free money to buy trinkets like this streetcar. Can't ya here the economic development suits saying, "oh yeah and we have a streetcar with a restaurant in it!"

Is this gonna be like that TWA constellation that was converted into a bar on main street? How long did THAT last?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Can't they get most of the food from dumpsters since most of the riders are 'local' residents and this is the normal cuisine!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Will they serve Kale Smoothies? An extra tall variety of kale is known as cow cabbage. Perfect variety for CKMO.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Look at the bright side you rubes. In the first year of operation the downtown toy train will put taxpayers in the hole another $4 million just for operating expenses.

But hey it's free to ride boutique transportation for downtown dwellers! And don't forget the tourists!

    ReplyDelete
  12. And the sales taxes from all of the food and beverages that this sells will pay for the whole toy train in 6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Um remember that the 300 or so jackasses who started this mess said they would vote for it but probably wouldn't ride it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. So dinning aboard the electric choo- choo will cost like $15.00, but the hour ride while you eat will cost what? $368.55?

  16. FUNNY APRIL FOOLS DAY JOKE TONY

    ReplyDelete
  17. Actually this does sound like something Mensa boy would be in favor of, but fortunately since it's April Fool's day, we can chalk this one up to being a joke. Too bad the not yet completed but already at break-even Mensa boy memorial combination flying carpet and streetcar amusement park ride can't be attributed to the ghost of April Fool's past.

    Mr. Tony,

Happy April Fool's Day to you!

    Here's another one

"Realizing his huge failure to effectively govern this city and his dwindling capacity to grasp reality, Mayor Sylvester James withdraws from the race for Mayor"

    ReplyDelete
  19. TKC, Will the people working on this FREE ride be paid $15 per hour? That may move the operating loss per year to $5 mil, not 4.
    Happy April First everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I know it's April fools day, but don't you love the political phrase of "forward thinking downtown?". Downtown is a bunch of buildings

    ReplyDelete
  21. I was hoping for a bar car.

    ReplyDelete
  22. That has to be the stupidest thing ever. The whole point is to move you quickly. If it takes so long to travel that you can sit down at a diner and be served, then what is the point of fast public transportation.

Transit in this city has never made sense because it is not that hard to park your car anywhere in Kansas city.

  23. Of course, they're centering their employment focus on cheap Black labor. Thanks, Jermaine Reed!

  24. BREAKING!!!!!!!!!

Monica Lewinsky to join Hillary Clinton 2016 Presidential campaign.

After spending the past few years advocating on behalf of women's issues, Ms. Lewinsky explained that she's ready to help split open the disparate legs of the Democratic party, dive into Hillary's core, and lick all who stand in her way!

A spokeswoman for Ms. Clinton reported that Hillary welcomed Ms. Lewinsky to her team and looked forward to debriefing her as soon as possible.

  27. Forget about tourism. I'm not coming all the way to Kansas City to ride your damn toy train. This is a financial disaster. ZERO new businesses will be created because of it. That's not how economics works. The economy is best stimulated by creating good jobs, with a living wage, that only require a high school education. Forget about being the tech capital of the mid-west. This is just a get rich quick scheme. I grew up watching my father prove they don't work. Your city isn't safe, therefore your toy train won't be either without special security. Police riding around in fat machines don't keep cities safe, they only respond to emergencies. Police on foot provide security by deterring crime by their presence.

  28. If it will keep Byron from coming to Kansas City the toy choo choo might just have a purpose after all.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The saddest bit about this whole April Fools post is that, given the nonsense and crap that KCMO government regularly feeds the public, the story is actually BELIEVABLE!
In fact, we should all hope that Johnson and the clown posse don't get any ideas from it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. The mayor and his puppets must be thinking the thugs will leave their guns at home and settle for a good food fight.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Monica Lewinsky worked in the White House as an intern. Was she any good at her job?

    Yes, she sucked!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Byron is right on economics. Get rid of all free trade deals an tell American business if you want to sell it here, then you make it here

  35. Sly and Reardon make a great team. They make the Mission Hills boys sing and dance all the way to the bank. Using other peoples money to make their dreams come true is so much fun. Eating while traveling on public transportation has always a delight. Can you imagine the tax increases coming soon so all their dreams can come true.

  36. Lets see, looks good now, BUT, wait once the Degenerate Inner City Gangsta Thugs get on the TOY TRAIN and Assault the Chef and whoever else and rob at Gun point the riders, it'll all be over with, and you can bet its gonna happen !!

Just look at the recent city bus assaults that's been taking place and shooting at city buses and school buses by those Degenerate Thug KCMO Gangstas.

TOY TRAIN now, soon to become the GHETTO' TRAIN from Hell, just a matter of time !!

Name 1 thing that has been built in KCMO, that hasn't been turned into Ghetto' Slum nightmare by KCMO Ghetto Rats that Sly and the City Council supports ??????

Judt look at all the Recent Fiasco's at the Kansas City Power Light District prime example , shootings, murder, stabbings, scuffles riots.
