TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! KANSAS CITY COUNCIL CONTENDERS CALL OUT CANDIDATES USING AXIOM FOR CONNECTION TO SCHWEICH ATTACK ADS!!!

This morning Kansas City political posturing continues in the aftermath of the tragic demise of Missouri Auditor Tom Schweich.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY COUNCIL CONTENDERS BLAST COMPETING CANDIDATES FOR USING AXIOM GIVEN THE CONNECTION TO RECENT ATTACK ADS AGAINST TOM SCHWEICH PRECEDING HIS DEATH FROM A SELF-INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND?!?

"There is a lot of baggage that goes along with using a big Republican firm like Axiom. Sure, the benefits are clear and I don't doubt they have incredible resources. But a so-called 'Union guy' and a 3rd District candidate going along a firm that was on the wrong side of bullies against Tom Schweich just doesn't look good."

Here's some MSM reporting that confirms the political chatter: Political tensions that Schweich faced had mounted

"In the radio ad that began airing last month, the announcer aimed to sound like Kevin Spacey’s voice in “House of Cards,” the political drama on Netflix. The announcer called Schweich a “weak candidate” who “could be easily confused for the deputy sheriff of Mayberry,” referring to a goofy official played by Don Knotts in “The Andy Griffith Show.”

"The ad was sponsored by a political action committee called Citizens for Fairness in Missouri. Until Feb. 16, the committee’s deputy treasurer was Hanaway’s campaign treasurer: James C. Thomas III of Kansas City.

"Thomas is a lawyer with close ties to Hanaway’s campaign consultant, Jeff Roe. Roe’s firm, Axiom Strategies of Kansas City, has long been associated with campaigns that go for the jugular. Roe did not return a phone call Friday."

The image up top comes from a CONFIDENTIAL SOURCE but also reveals that the adverts against Schweich were only gonna get rougher and there is no doubt that Axiom still plays hardball after all these years. In fairness, the Barney Fife hit piece is pretty standard political rhetoric and COMPLETELY UNRELATED to far more shameful allegations linked to other GOP leaders regarding a despicable 'whisper campaign' targeting Jewish religious and ethnic identity. Still . . . The Barney Fife strategy is not "nice" and looks worse now given Scheich's tragic demise.

Now . . .

3rd District At-Large contender Dee Evans and 2nd District At-Large candidate Jason Hodges are the most notable candidates using Axiom as part of their strategy and we expect this talking point will come up as the forums and debates get more intense.

For the moment the KCMO council races has been tame but it's not gonna stay that way. In a largely Democrat and union controlled town that's also home to alternative GOP factions not in-line with the rural Missouri Conservative base . . . This effort to call out candidates for a bit of Axiom hardball gone foul might be effective.

You decide . . .

  8. IF he killed himself over the stress from a few ads and accusations and religious comments, then he did not have the sack to be governor, regardless of his skills and sense of right. I'm not sure we're heard the last of what might have been going on with him.

  9. Kraske called him high strung. Along with the comments Sanchez made I wonder how Schwiech would have handled the Ferguson mess. But what man offs himself over a political fight and leaves his 2 children without a father?

  10. I hope people will keep posting the KCMo candidates that are paying Jeff Roe's company. Especially the at-large beggars I get to vote against.

  11. agree with earlier comments - as our ol' Gangsta -in- Chief Harry Ass Truman said -

"if you can't stand the heat - get out of the kitchen"

and -- when you 'do' yourself -- you make your enemies happy -- and hurt your loved ones.

  12. Why do any of these council candidates need Row or anyone else to tell them what to do or say for run for office?
Mostly because they have no ideas about public service or city government.
Same old crap. Just a few new faces.

  13. Dee Evans does not stand a chance. Too old, too ugly and pretending that the handful of white friends she has is going to get her elected to an At-Large council position is delusional, at best.
