TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! COULD GREATER KANSAS CITY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HONCHO JIM HEETER MAKE A POWER PLAY @ KCP&L?!?!

TKC NOTE: Here's a fun perspective about a big time local biz boss who could be moving even higher up the Kansas City food chain according to this insider:

Heeter: The New Front Man For KCPL?!?!

After dragging a$$ and performing in completely uninspired fashion, KCPL now is rolling out in an effort to co-opt all competition with a private monopoly foisted extension of their monopoly. As the utility has pretended to sponsor all things green while stifling solar, now they are offering parched earth to all competitors, under the guise of a business association.

Where is competition, where is diversity of choice? Some have said behind the scenes KCPL almost runs the Chamber, and now the CEO of KCPL is expected to be the next leader. Oh and don't forget old Cindy Circo, doing double duty as KCPL fixer while being key player on business incentives. Talk about giving the utility undue control over things that are clear conflicts.

Sly should go back to ambulance chasing, Heeter should get a productive job, and KCPL should be sued for antitrust.

And by the way, benchmarking KC on progress and scale of electric vehicle success, they get a poor rating. They sat on the money, acting shocked, shocked that there was not a great success. When was the last time you saw a private monopoly coal burning utility do anything extremely well in innovation toward public interest? And while everyone was looking the other way, Missouri utilities just bought off all the politicos on their way to getting a 15.8% rate hike. This is after the newspaper said rates had "stabilized". Where in the world do they get an almost 16% increase as stabilization. That is after rates virtually doubled since the recession, what else has gone up like that in last 8 years?

The great big fix is underway, and as usual the special interests get their way, and the public gets %$(@

  1. The Pitch 2010

American Italian Pasta's top executives used accounting tricks to make the company seem more profitable. The Enron-style bookkeeping came to light in 2005. The company announced that its financial reports could not be trusted and that the SEC was investigating.

Heeter says the company's board, which he joined in 2000 or 2001 (he's not sure), deserves the credit for the misdeeds coming to light. "We rooted out the fraud," he says. "We found it ourselves."

    Uh huh. Yip, okay.

  2. Speaking of Enron style accounting tricks, when are we going to audit this city's books for the past four years.

  3. Guy owns two Mercedes Benz's and lives in a half million dollar condo.

No doubt he'll be looking out for the "little people".

  4. Shouldn't he be moving into one of those cheap new apartments downtown and getting ready to use the toy train in solidarity with the millennials and hipsters?

  5. This is the same guy who is only giving endorsements to council candidates who want to build a new KCI terminal even though their constituents want someone opposed.

Meanwhile, he is telling people that the KC Chamber members are completely supportive of a new terminal, much to the surprise of most members and at least one board member who cannot recall even discussing it.
