DeleteSeveral years back an incident like this happened in Overland Park. No stun guns was used or guns drawn I don't think, but in the end the patient was just fucking nuts. 3 Med Act people, 1 Overland Park Firefighter and 2 Overland Park Police officers all needed medical attention of some sorts and two sets of glasses had to be replaced. I'd say that since the officers were in a church full of people they handled the incident in a safe manor for all. Remember the job of the officers is to not only protect themselves but to protect the public as well. People who have gone off the deep end of life can do a lot of damage as well as kill someone in a very short period of time.

ReplyDeleteThe police are paid to keep the peace and prevent injury to innocent by standers, with the least amount of injury to the offender. It doesn't matter if he was on PCP, nutty as a fruitcake, or feeling the spirit of the Lord. The police were called there because people couldn't handle him. An out of control person can do a lot of physical damage to old people, and that is why they chose to get the police. If you don't like how he was arrested, ask the Lord to do it...let's see how he responds.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Dave, that is what its coming to. Everyone wants the Police to show up and hand out hugs and unicorn kisses. If you can't handle a situation and you call the Police, you better be ready for what may happen. These officers were protecting themselves, and had they not used a taser they probably would have had to use some sort of tactic which resulted in further injury to the suspect.

Cheering on this unbridled aggression is right up there with the cheering on a crucifixion. The cops could have just as easily spent five minutes calling and expert and getting proper advice on handling the situation, but they'd rather kick ass and sit on their fat asses all afternoon doing paperwork at the PD HQ. Grandma is of course a Godly woman despite the fact she and millions of other black women failed at raising their own child as evidenced by their own absence. Their own child is MIA but they are qualified to "raise" a grandchild? They are of course only 38 years or so older than their grandchild. The kid is of course a problem, a lot of it having to do with how poorly grandma raised them, the other part being black genetics. Mom and dad not involved. Grandma defends kid as "good" kid. Yep, we've got the story of life in the black community covered.
