Amid Busted Budget And Kansas City Voter Push Back: City Council Touts Civility!!!

At a time when neighborhood priorities have been neglected and locals are starting to complain to their politicos . . . The Mayor and City Council are focusing on politeness.

"The Kansas City Council on Thursday adopted a resolution urging civility in politics and in the upcoming council elections.

Councilman Ed Ford was the lead sponsor of the resolution, which got unanimous council support. He said it was prompted in part by Schweich’s untimely death in the midst of an apparently vicious whisper campaign about his candidacy for governor."

Here's a quick fact check . . .

Rather than do anything significant to reform campaign finance or encourage voter participation . . .The City Council is doing their best to sidetrack and stifle Kansas City's political conversation.

  1. Sorry Mr. Sly and City Council. We the taxpayers (responsible citizens) have our own debts and financial obligations to pay for.

Maybe you should consider a "kidult" or "playcation" tax. And a latte', kale, craft beer, and faux artist tax.

  5. Ed Ford is a great one to be touting civility when he yells at and demeans community people who testify before his committee.

  6. They are asking taxpayers and citizens for civility or - just bend over and take it in the ass and enjoy it.

  7. Death to all the council members. They veto'd civility when they told voters to kiss their asses on the street car and so many other city funded projects. Wished they'd all take a gun to their temples and pull the trigger but their probably too dumb to even get that right. They could inadvertently injure an innocent kid in the crossfire. They are pathetic.
