TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! CELEBRATE THE KANSAS CITY MAYOR SLY REELECTION TOP 5!!!

The residents of Kansas City, Missouri should have a clear idea of what's on Mayor Sly's agenda when he is reelected and right now mainstream media isn't paying much attention to the phony perception of a mandate that this town's top politico is attempting to craft.

To wit . . .

TONIGHT LET'S CELEBRATE THE TOP 5 KANSAS CITY ISSUES MAYOR SLY IS WAITING TO RAM DOWN THE THROAT OF VOTERS UPON HIS REELECTION!!!

This blog doesn't make endorsements but it's important to know that to expect in the aftermath of a low voter turnout election.

Check it:

Kansas City Will Check Another Half Billion Into A Downtown Contention Hotel

This town's focus continues to be Downtown while every other part of this sprawling city is neglected. They're calling the convention hotel subsidized by taxpayers "the missing piece" and taxpayers will be missing a lot of cash when it's complete.

Mayor Sly Promises Another Four Years of Higher Kansas City Taxes

A quick overview: Already we can expect a general obligation bond property tax ask, an e-tax renewal campaign, another water bond issue tax vote and more transit cash on the ballot . . . Kansas City seemingly loves taxes almost as much as Mayor Sly given this slate of local levies coming up.

Mayor Sly Has Already Put This Town On Track For Another Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar Line

The money is already set aside . . . The plan is to repeat a gerrymandering smallish toy train attempt and limit the election to just a few hundred voters. Push-back has started but let's not forget that Mayor Sly is powered by just about every corporate lawyer and big corporation in town.

Flying High After Reelection We Should Expect Mayor Sly To Takeoff With New Airport Plans

Most insiders say the first airport commission was rigged and now with a" mandate" Mayor Sly could begin to undertake an effort that certainly puts KCMO on a flight path to crash and burn into bankruptcy.

The Kansas City Creative Hipster Class Will Continue To Be Mayor Sly's Most Valued Constituency

Mayor Sly has found his "core constituency" and most hipster creative class consultants simply adore the guy because he pays well and takes a great selfie. There are many diverse communities in Kansas City but it seems that the Mayor is mostly interested in fans who can appreciate the irony of his bow tie.

Again, voters and residents might not be able or willing to do much about this but it's always good to know what to expect.

And all of this has inspired tonight's playlist.

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  18. Sly is smart enough to know that you cannot win at large without winning the 4th. And you can't win the forth if you are anti transit.

The forth is 50% of the tax base and nearly 1/3 if the total votes cast. And not the northeast part if the fourth where no one votes, the center city part.

The 4th is the city, the 4th is the voting base and the 4th is strongly, overwhelmingly pro transit, pro development, pro investment, and pro city. Change doesn't scare us the way it scares you. We don't let knee jerk reactions dominate our political discourse. We don't let outsiders sway us, or faux news parrots confuse us with webs of spin and lies. We don't get our information from entertainment blogs. We don't care who gets endorsed by who. We don't fear having a better city or having a city at all. In contrast, we live this city and we choose to live here and make it not only a great, fun, cool city, but a better and better one all the time.

  21. @1:44am
It's beyond arrogant to think that "the 4th is the city" when in fact, councilmanic districts are apportioned as equally as possible by population. If you're interested in going back to colonial times when only property owners could vote I doubt you'll have many supporters.
I'd also think that anyone who is such a KCMO booster as you consider yourself would define "transit" much more broadly than a very limited rail system that is based mostly on trendiness and fadishness and not to actually move people around in a way that adds to economic vitality.
And, finally, you seem to have no understanding or maybe interest at all in the basic municipal responsibilities that actual city governments have in addressing needs like public safety, infrastructure, water and sewer systems, and all the rest for ALL of their residents, and to do so with a balanced, responsible, serious, and professional system of financial planning, controls, priorities, and expenditures.
At the end of the day, reality, facts, and arithmetic always win.
Running a city as a taxpayer-funded amusement park for millenials is a joke.

  22. 1:44: You're posting a tad late and apparently a tad under the influence of alcohol, drugs, an over-inflated ego or a combination thereof. The rest of the city would have no problem if the Fourth decides to install a streetcar as long as the entire cost is borne by the Fourth. Otherwise, realize you're part of the city. You're not the city. And as the city grows further north, you'll be increasingly irrelevant.

  23. Tax and spend!

    ReplyDelete
  24. 144-Spell check much?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Fact check 7:50,

The 4th does pay for the entire streetcar. It would have also paid for 90% of the expansion plan, despite the fact that 75% of that plan would have been built on the east side.

The 4th also subsidizes the sprawl in the northland, which doesn't have the tax base to build the roads, sewers, highways, and infrastructure they whiners up there continual howl about "deserving".

    ReplyDelete
  26. Gee. The 4th pays for the entire streetcar and subsidizes the northland. Do they also do wonders and shit cucumbers?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Gee, facts bother me. Guess I'll join a propaganda spreading facebook page and comment relentlessly on a a gossip blog.

    ReplyDelete
  28. How is Sly doing on making the tough cuts that are required in the KCFD?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think the 4th does cucumbers and just shits.

    ReplyDelete
  30. lets spend that fed money on high speed rail, intercity. a tinkertoy train for the main street business is a waste ofmoney, unless its just theirs.
