Alissia Canady Responds to Councilman Michael Brooks’ Resignation
Kansas City, MO. – Alissia Canady, Candidate for City Council Fifth In-District seat.
Kansas City Councilman Michael Brooks decision to resign now leaves candidate Alissia Canady, assistant Jackson County prosecutor, as the front-runner in the race for the Fifth In-District seat.
"Now it is time to focus on the future of the Fifth District and making it the best place in this city to live, work, and raise a family,” Canady said. “We will accomplish this by focusing on public safety, supporting neighborhoods, and targeting economic development opportunities such as encouraging entrepreneurship, supporting small business growth, and increasing home-ownership opportunities."
Bishop Steve Houpe, Pastor Ronald Lindsay, and longtime community leader and Fifth-District resident, Mary Kelly, are among the first to announce their endorsement of Canady.
"I believe that Alissia is the best candidate to lead the Fifth District going forward. She is a hard worker, well-learned and committed to the people." Kelly said.

Never will happen. Crime will continue until drastic measures are taken. The police are afraid to do anything in 5th District neighborhoods because they don't want to be labeled as "racist".
