  9. KC needs to get serious about fines for these people. No more wasting police resources. The fines need to be representative of what this is costing Kansas City to pay for protecting these people against traffic and themselves. The overtime billed to our city has been ridiculous but needed. Thanks for letting me post this comment TKC. I have tried to complain to the Star but they don't want to hear it. They would rather ignore these protest than confront them with some facts. Keep up the good work.

What I see and hear on TV is a flock of barely literate shit heels attempting to disrupt tax payer's rights to drive down the street or attend an event. Just like Michael Brown would disrupt a hard working American from running his business free from thugery. I see a bunch of white bums holding signs saying "Black Lives Matter" when the overwhelming majority of people killed by police are fucking white. Clearly these people are ignorant. The only thing they are making me aware of is that here is a pack of ass clowns that are too fucking dumb to function in the real world without supervision.

  17. APPLAUSE for 5:18, 5:23, 5:26 comments!!!!!!!!

You said, "tell us what you think."

I think that these protesters likely have a low IQ, are easily manipulated, are impulsive, identify themselves as victims, and have vastly misdirected their anger and frustration towards the wrong target!

Targeting the KCPD, KCMO drivers, and other groups who had NOTHING to do with events in Ferguson and NYC, is like assaulting your mailman because your bank made a mistake on your latest monthly statement!

All around the country, many people of color feel some kind of twisted obligation to join a protest movement. This is primarily a guilt trip placed upon them by the social leaders in their community attempting to solidify the leader's power base at the expense of their followers. It's an example of same-race exploitation. Nationally, most know that this is the specialty of folks like Sharpton, Jackson, Obama, Holder, etc. Locally, people such as Gwen Grant, "bishop" Caldwell, Congressman Carwash, many political/faith leaders, etc., are more than happy to benefit from exploiting their flock. Honestly, it's disgraceful predatory behavior.

For a thoughtful, logic-based examination of the events in Ferguson, NYC, and other interesting topics, please see "Stefan Molyneux channel" at YouTube.com

If you don't know the answers, get out of the street. ALL LIVES MATTER.

  27. The Chief of Police is Chief Daryl Forte. The Police Board of commissioners consists of 5 members. Four are appointed by the Governor and Senate, plus the Mayor. We currently only have 3 appointed members, Alvin Brooks (former police officer), Michael Rader (former prosecutor) and Angela Wasson-Hunt (Police Retirement and other police foundations).

A citizen can file a complaint with certain neighborhood advocacy groups (ad hoc, northland neighborhoods), in person at any of the police stations, or online.

The Board of Police Commissioners appoints a citizen group named the Board of Community Complaints. They are charged with protecting the police from complaints and accept complaints from the public.

The BOPC doesn't seem to be stacked with those sympathetic to the LEO community, like former cops, or prosecutors. And the Office of Community Complaints, which is appointed by these unbiased commissioners, works steadfastly in the tireless pursuit of justice.

The outcomes of this appointed panel are available only in person. In order to receive such info you must identify yourself, and request the information in person.

  28. Block an interstate , impede peoples progress who have nothing to do with the police, endanger lives by possibly causing a wreck.......This has what to do exactly with Ferguson or police conduct? Here's an idea. Go to the police station downtown, chain yourselves to the doors, chain yourselves to police cars. Of course there will be some down to the pink meat head peeling. But it's for The Cause, right?
The reason there is so little support for this "cause' is the public sees the cowardice in the protests. They target businesses, private citizens, those without the ability to defend themselves from the mob..It almost sounds like the same tactics the police are accused of. The difference is, the cops are generally doing their jobs, the protesters dont HAVE jobs.

  29. 6:53 I can't honestly answer your question because no comprehensive statistics are kept on Police involved shootings. They are self reported, and aren't subject to a uniform reporting standard which accurately reflects the nature of the polcie shootings. But I would join you in a call for transparent reporting of such incidents.

Let me ask you, since you expect so much research from your opponents.

    1. How many cops were killed in KC this year in shootings?

    2. How many cops were killed in KC last year in shootings?

    3. How many cops were killed in KC in the last 30 years in shootings?

4.What is the rate per 100,000 of of cops killed in the line of duty in shootings?

    5. Which is more dangerous per 100,000? To be a police officer or a citizen of Kansas City?

    Answers: 1)0 2)0 3)0 4) Approx 5.5 5)citizen of Kansas City

  32. 7:18
New York is not really "pretty fucking dangerous", not in a city of over 8 million with a police force of some 40,000 sworn officers. This was the first two Officers killed in a shooting this year.

That brings the shooting death rate to 5 per 100,000 still lower than the national average. So being an officer of the NYPD is actually safer than expected.

  47. Dear Mr. Tony: Thanks for posting this info!! Incidentally, this new civil rights movement may have, literally in a matter of hours, changed its slogan!! As we know, the slogan had been "No justice, no peace." Now, this is a rather unsubtle threat of violence, as we all know, but no one dared to say so for fear of being accused of racism. Well, at 3PM EST today two cops from the NYPD were killed--apparently by a gunman angry about the Michael Borwn and Eric Garner tragedies. Later today a democnstration took place at the Mall os the Americas in Minnesota: The new slogan? "No justice, no shopping." As someone who believes that we are blessed to live in a country where people do not have to resort to violence to get justice, I am delighted with this change!! I hope that the movement drops its former slogan and takes up this new one. Take care!! Sincerely and Respectfully, Ernest Evans

  48. I agree there should be uniform reporting of deadly force encounters with the police. Stats should include if the citizen is armed or assaulting the officer or others.

Glad that no KC cops have been killed in gun battle in 30 years. However I know cops have been shot/shot at lots. Maybe their training, vests, and great ER docs get the credit for the saves, not the fact that the baddies did not try hard enough.

As for who citizens need to fear, there are 781 homicides so far in KC. How many by cops? How many by other citizens? Who do you fear?

I am unaware of a mass of lawsuits getting filed or won. If a bad cop exists, and I am sure there are some, they should be addressed, but to paint them all with the same brush does not do society any good.

We live in a constitutional republic, not a democracy...thank goodness. Pure democracy is mob rule. The signs "this is what democracy looks like" at many protests are the best advertisement for why pure democracy is not something you really want. The definition of justice, rights, etc will change with the wind and emotion as opposed to logic and rational thought.

A wise person has said that our system may be dysfunctional at times, but still better than anything else out there.

  56. To my friend ERnest Evans at 11:30 comment. Was that actually you who wrote:

"The new slogan? "No justice, no shopping." As someone who believes that we are blessed to live in a country where people do not have to resort to violence to get justice, I am delighted with this change!! I hope that the movement drops its former slogan and takes up this new one."

As you know, I am NOT sympathetic to the protesters in Ferguson, NYC, Oakland, etc., who I strongly feel are ignorant of the facts in these cases. While I concur that a move away from physical violence is positive, let us remember that a "No Shopping" protester who attempts to impede others from conducting commerce by blocking entrances, laying down, etc., is also committing a form of violence against retail business owners, buyers, distributors and manufacturers.

In related topics, let me get your thoughts upon a few topics which come to mind:

    1) While rarely thought of this way, isn't it true that Western culture is largely based upon violence, or it's implied use, to extract benefits for those in power.

    2) Do you not voluntarily pay taxes because of an implied threat from the government?

    3) How do you explain a politician like E. Cleaver, a reverend who purports to promote "civility", yet whose words and actions oftentimes encourage uncivil behavior among those foolish enough to heed his call?

    4) Hasn't the NFL done more to promote physical violence across the country for decades, than these recent misguided anti-police protesters? Note that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was paid $105 million for the 2008--2012 seasons.

As always, thank you for your comments.

  57. 1:05 "a form of violence against retail business owners, buyers, distributors, and manufacturers"???????? The very definition of violence contradicts you statement. What definition of violence are you using?

    ReplyDelete
  58. 1:15 comment

"Violence" as in.....acting purposely to harm, damage, and/or destroy the means by which one earns their living.

Example: protesters who try to shut down a business operate in a similar manner to those practicing extortion, intimidation, etc., against a business owner.

    ReplyDelete
  59. 7:42, you couldn't be more wrong. I am neither a cop, so not a member of FOP, nor a retired cop. But I can tell you it's a lot more dangerous to be a cop in 2014 with 120+ cop murders so far this year (not including the two NYPD officers) than in 2013 when there were about 100. 2014 has been the deadliest year for cops since the early 1940s. So it's not cop lovers and the FOP twisting facts. These are the facts.
