Animal Rights Perspective On Kansas City Country Club Plaza Horse Carriage Cruelty

Here's a bit more insight about the struggle against horse carriages on the County Club Plaza . . . A Kansas City animal rights activist offers this perspective . . .

"Horses are forced to toil in all weather extremes, dodge traffic, and pound the pavement all day long. These gentle animals suffer from respiratory ailments because they breathe in exhaust fumes, and they develop debilitating leg problems from walking on hard surfaces. In some cases, horses have even dropped dead . . ."

  2. I say we ban assholes with signs from public street corners.

  3. and I say we ban Constitution hating, anti-American super heroes from TKC. I guess we can all poop in one hand, then wish in the other and see which fills up faster.

  4. When I was young we plowed with mules. My mules name was OLD PET. She would pull that plow from sunup to sunset but when she had had enough she would turn her head toward that barn and no man alive could stop here. These Carriage horses are the same. They let the driver know when they have had enough. GAME OVER.

  5. Spray the mother fuckers with animal blood. Isn't that what they do to people who wear fur?

  6. Good point 9:13, horses, mules, camel, oxen, all the "power" animals are built for this.

  8. I agree lets ban assholes like 9:06 who think the Constitution means the right to trample other peoples rights to peace and quite and a fun time.

  9. 10:22 I swear there are a bunch of rights I missed out on. "Peoples rights to peace and quiet"? Where do you come up with this stuff? Your right to peace and quiet ends where my right to speech begins. want quiet? stay at home.

    1. And this is why you fail. People see you as pains in the ass because your approach is sheer confrontation without creativity.

  10. 10:22's made up, fictional right to peace and quiet is trampling my very real rights to speech on public property (not private property).

^^^^^ ok you two butt wipes if not one and the same.
I get the freedom of speech shit and I as well get the freedom of ones desire to enjoy themselves stance. But here is what fucking pisses me off about you tree hugging nigger lovers is you think you have the right to upset anyone else's desires to have a nice relaxing evening somewhere but then claim you have the right to say people such as the KKK have no right to protest or make public speeches. Yes if the KKK was to protest anywhere on the Plaza you shit stains would be yelling bloody murder that they be stopped and sent home because the KKK is all about hate. I see protesters yelling about animals and I see haters. People who hate the fact that a person such as someone like them has the right to use an animal to provide a service for people who are at the Plaza to enjoy themselves.

See how you protesters look like the haters you really are when you act like you do. Protesting because you hate something makes you are hater plain and simple.

  12. no it was the same person, and I support the KKK's rights to protest, and even wrote my state legislature when they tried to stop them from adopting a highway. the whole point of putting freedoms into law is to make sure they are protected for all people. even if i disagree with them on the issue, i support their right to have those views.

  13. same person from 1213: because if not you start to have problems like the IRS targeting you if they don't like your speech.

  14. BREAKING!!!!!!!!!!!
    EXCLUSIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A settlement has been reached between the Plaza Carriage concession and the Horseshit Protesters.

"Horses are forced to toil in all weather extremes, dodge traffic, and pound the pavement all day long. These gentle animals suffer from respiratory ailments because they breathe in exhaust fumes, and they develop debilitating leg problems from walking on hard surfaces. In some cases, horses have even dropped dead . . ."

Horses will be outfitted with weather-appropriate attire at all times.

Horses will be outfitted with airbags and helmets.

Horses will now be making their rounds atop Segway scooters to alleviate stress on their legs.

Horses will be equipped with respirators providing finely tuned oxygen levels for their specific equinine breed.

Carriage rides will now cost $1,000/30 minutes.

The protesters left the Plaza in their gas-guzzling SUV's, wearing down-filled parkas trimmed in leather, and stopped at Winstead's for some cow flesh sandwiches.

    1. You're mildly amusing. There's no reason to be defensive, lil rebel. Let me make it even easier. Think PETA. They're an eyeroll laughingtock much like these protesters. Sorry, ya gotta be able to communicate with people who disagree or your whole protest is pretty much ego-driven....well....horseshit. ;)

  18. They're WORK ANIMALS. Countless generations of breeding have developed the traits that make these animals so good at what they're doing... There's not much danger, they're well fed, they're getting way more attention than the lonely pasture would provide, and the glue factory is still a distant possibility. They could have it much worse...

The "animal rights" activists? Well they've found something to keep themselves from feeling left out amidst all these Ferguson protests on the plaza...

  19. 12:55 for the win. You rock !

  20. GOOD NEWS EVERYBODY!! The carriages will be off The Plaza in less than two years! The McGees will be finding a more loving use for their beautiful horses on their ranch where they belong. Perhaps even a more profitable and humane way to exploit their animals, if they're clever enough. Everbody wins! No more public displays of animal cruelty and no more horseshit and piss in the streets!

  21. Oh goody, goody! Now all we have to do is get shit hole city to stop abusing its tax paying citizens.

  22. People are collectively sick of seeing the horses dragging KC fatasses around in circles with cars speeding past them and scaring the shit out of them. It is a stupid tradition, it is shitty for the animals, and most of you bitching are aware of that and just want something to bitch about. Who cares who is holding a sign for something they are passionate about? They aren't harming anyone and are practicing freedom of speech, usually getting a few high fives from passers by… You all probably support puppy mills too because they help the "poor tax paying citizens". Why does anyone get this worked up over people trying to do some good?
