"The President’s plan to grant amnesty to those who have entered this country illegally is unconstitutional. I strongly oppose his unilateral efforts to ignore federal law and will support any legislative means possible to stop these actions including using the power of the purse to defund these unprecedented measures.
"If there was any question about the unlawful nature of this plan, we need only to look back to President Obama’s own words: 'there are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system. That for me to simply, through executive order, ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as President.'
"As many as 25 times, the President has said that the maneuvers which he is taking today are not allowable under our system of democracy. These actions ignore the will of the people who elected and sent their representation to Washington and Congress should use all of the tools at their disposal to prohibit these unconstitutional acts."

We complain about the federal government's lack of ability to address and serious issues and then re-elect tools like this guy.
Yoder is a notorous moron, but even so, he needs to explain why it was OK when Bush I, Reagan and Eisenhower declared amnesties for millions of illegal immigrants. Yes, they did that. Look it up.

ReplyDeleteLadies and gentlemen: Congressman Yoder is an actor playing a role, and reading the script which he's been assigned. He believes that you'll be satisifed with this theatrical performance, because you keep coming back to his show again and again.
How do you know he's acting?
Because if he honestly believed what he was telling you, he would be doing everything in his power to remove President Obama from power. Congressman Yoder stated that Obama was acting unconstitutionally, NOT in accordance with the U.S. Constitution, so Congressman Yoder will protect and defend the Constitution or he is as guilty as the President.
What do you think is going to happen?

ReplyDeleteIn one of his campaign ads he said he'd been to the border and had seen places where illegal aliens could cross without being challenged. Still, not he or any other member of congress, from either party, has done anything to close the border. Nothing.
ReplyDelete7:57, nice straw man argument. No one disputes that Obama like all presidents has the power to issue executive order affecting immigration. But, when Reagan and Bush entered immigration related executive orders they supplemented amnesties already passed by Congress, and those orders were therefore in line with Congressional intent. Obama's order does not supplement Congressional intent. It is in defiance of Congressional intent. It is unconstitutional.
