Kansas City Metro Survey: Fiorella’s Jack Stack Edges Joe’s Kansas City as Kansas City’s Favorite BBQ Spot
Everyone knows Kansas City has the best barbeque. But with the American Royal headed to town this weekend, we wanted to know- What is Kansas City's favorite barbeque joint? So Remington Research decided to ask them. We surveyed residents of the Kansas City Metropolitan area on a variety of barbecue topics.
The survey found Kansas Citians narrowly prefer Fiorella’s Jack Stack over Joe’s Kansas City. 27% of Kansas City metropolitan residents chose Fiorella’s Jack Stack compared to 24% who prefer Joe’s Kansas City. Gates garnered 17% of residents while Arthur Bryant’s was chosen by 10%.
Fiorella’s Jack Stack was the top choice southern and western Johnson County, Cass County, Eastern Jackson County and Platte County. Joe’s Kansas City reigned supreme in northeast Johnson County, portions of the Country Club Plaza and Clay County while Gates took the most support in Kansas City, Kansas and the Kansas City portion of Jackson County. Arthur Bryant’s maintained a strong foothold in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
Residents were also asked to choose their favorite barbeque entrée and side dish. Beef brisket tallied 28% while pork spareribs came in a close 2nd at 27%. Burnt ends gathered 17% support while pulled pork’s supporters numbered 10%.
Baked beans is far and away the favored choice as side dish totaling 49%. 18% of metro residents prefer french fries while 14% opt for cole slaw.
Survey conducted September 27th through September 29th, 2014. 4438 Kansas City metropolitan residents participated in the survey. The survey was weighted to reflect population density of the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area.

ReplyDelete4:56 you are right on the money. Joes is SOOO overrated....ribs are good but a Lil bland and that's the best thing I can say about Joes. They give you skimpy bland sandwiches and aside from their fries, all of their sides suck. Jack Stack all day baby....Gates on a good day is 2nd...
