There's nothing like a good Kansas City death pool to start the day.

And while it's been captivating to watch and hear about how City Council hopefuls are organizing their upcoming campaigns, we've gleaned one interesting deet upon which everybody agrees . . .

THE CONSENSUS AMONG THE MAYOR'S PEEPS AND CITY COUNCIL HOPEFULS IS THAT KANSAS CITY AIRPORT DUDE VAN LOH HAS GOT TO GO!!!

Let's take it even higher . . .

KANSAS CITY POLITICOS ARE ALREADY PROMISING TO GET RID OF VANLOH AS PART OF THEIR ELECTION DEAL MAKING!!!

Now, this isn't exactly good news for critics of the new airport scheme because a change in leadership is really nothing more than an opportunity for re-branding.

BUT . . .

WORD IS OUT THAT NOT EVEN MAYOR SLY IS GOING TO STEP UP AND SAVE VANLOH AS HIS PITCH FOR THE NEW AIRPORT HAS ALL BUT CRASHED AND BURNED!!!

And still the struggle for/against a new Kansas City Airport persists even though the players might be taking a different flight path.

    You deep thinkers can only name 2 or 3 of the major department directors at CH. Probably, McIntire and Van Loh. What I will tell you is, that there is about a dozen that do absolutely NOTHING less achievement or change invites criticism, probably from TKC and his "community". And they draw 150K plus benes.

    You wonder why local government does not change, that is one of the fundamental reasons.

    Toy Train or Airport? I would choose the Airport. The Toy Train does nothing a bus couldn't do except look better for a while. At least and airport will be used by more people. As projects go, I would do something about the West Bottoms and Kemper first.

    It's all over for the new deal. The Republicans are abt to take over Congress and even Hillary won't roll for hundreds of millions up there. Hillary will be pretty moderate and not be in for froo froo bs like this.
