  1. If this "campus" is ever built anywhere near to what they claim, the idea that it's going to bring much of anything to south KCMO is a pipe dream.
    It will be a gated community fortress with lots of security for employees.
    People who live in the area are not going to find jobs there. Most of Cerner employees are tech folks with lots of training and degrees.
    The campus will be self-contained just the Sprint campus with dry cleaners, day care, restaurants, and all the rest. Cerner folks won't be shopping in Ruskin Heights.
    And Cerner employees won't be buying homes among the abandoned houses in Ruskin neighborhoods. They'll live all over the metro, including outside of KCMO and easily access the campus from interstates and Bannister.
    Which begs the question: What exactly are KCMO taxpayers getting for hundreds of millions in subsidies?
    Maybe John Sharp will find a job after he's termed out.
    Pockets picked yet again.
