Triple murder charges filed
A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with the three homicides and two assaults that occurred Tuesday in south Kansas City, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.
Brandon B. Howell, (dob: 5/24/1980), faces three Murder 1st Degree charges, two Assault 1st Degrees, Burglary 1st Degree, Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and four counts of Armed Criminal Action.
According to court records, officers arrived in the south Kansas City neighborhood after a 911 caller stated, “Help at address, shotgun.” They found a woman in her driveway of 3 Woodbridge Lane deceased from a gunshot. Inside the residence of 1 E. Woodbridge Lane, officers found two victims in the basement. They were severely injured. Two more victims were found in the front yard of a nearby residence. They also had died from gunshot wounds.
Witnesses, according to court records, told police they heard gun shots and observed a beige Toyota Highlander driving on Woodbridge and they saw a male exit the vehicle with a long gun. He approached one victim as she left her residence, shot her one time, then left in the Toyota.
Later the same day, according to court records, police officers were dispatched to a Motel 6 in the Northland, where three victims reported a man followed them to their room and assaulted them. Police found nearby the Toyota Highlander believed to be taken from the south Kansas City home at the time of the three homicides. Just before midnight, police arrested the defendant on Interstate 29 at NW 72nd Street. He had a shotgun in his right pant leg and had two spent shotgun shells in his pocket, as well as keys to the Toyota. A firearms traced revealed Howell had purchased the shotgun he carried Tuesday night in 2000.
Prosecutors have requested that Howell be held in custody without bond.

Sickening for the Prosecutor to crow about an "incredible reduction in crime" at a press conference announcing charges in a multiple murder case. I'm sure that made the families feel better, to know that Prosecutor Baker is stepping on their loved ones dead bodies in order to pat the police on the back in front of the cameras. Crime rates have nothing to do with this case - and it was sleazy and gratuitous for these "officials" to mention them and celebrate how wonderful a job they're all doing. The police captured the guy - good for them, they did their jobs and everyone appreciates it - but without the citizen tip, he might still be out there. The citizen is the real hero here, not the Mayor, the Prosecutor, or the Black Cop who had nothing to do with it.

The striking flaw in your logic is of course that you take offense when someone hurls the ethnic slur "nigger", as if that applies to all black people!!

Simple. And it's not shoddy or uncaring police work.
It's because in the black culture -- you don't snitch. So while they might know the killer, they won't talk. And this culture gets more insane with each passing year. Teen pregnancy is normal...seemingly a right of passage for young black girls. As is dropping out of high school. The number one cause of death of young black males is murder -- 91% black on black. Why are a disproportionate number of blacks in prison?Because they commit a disproportionate amount of crimes committed. The Black Culture's priorities are perverse -- a flashy car over a high school or college education. Music extolls the virtue of crime, drugs and misogyny. Most households are single parent. And this is the third generation who's only real job is standing in line -- for gov. aid, food stamps/WIC, AFDC, etc.
And no "Leader" in the black community is stepping up to help -- or if they point out this inconvenient truth, they're labeled "Uncle Tom" or "Oreo." Sharpton and Jackson only cry "Victim." And race-bait and hustle money.
It's time for the black community to step up. And deal with all of the above. And more.
As far as calling yourself "African-American," then in fairness, start calling me "European-American."
Better still, how about simply "American."

Those who say, no worries, he'll get the death penalty - at what price? That's what sickens me - there is an infinitesimal chance the mofo is innocent, yet it will cost millions of dollars to process this arrogant POS through the archaic and overwhelmed judicial system with all of the mandatory appeals and reviews. Then multiply that cost by the number of mofos apprehended for similar crimes and the cost is beyond absurd. Perpetuating this kind of behavior is crippling our society, such as it is, on multiple levels. If you want to make a meaningful change, work to change the laws. What does a .22 bullet cost, or a couple feet of duct tape and a plastic bag? I'd love to beat that arrogant look off his face with my bare hands and see the same kind of terror in his eyes he put into his victims' eyes as the realization creeps into this dim wit that the cushy legal system is not more.
