Kansas City ATA Could Soon Takeover The Jo

And here's a bit more evidence that we're "One KC" after all . . . Even more (much needed) Urban core to Golden Ghetto bus routes coming soon . . . Kansas City Area Transportation Authority votes to take over management of The JO

  1. Please change acronym of combined bus service to MARTKC (Moving Africans Rapidly Through Killa City)
Does not have the panache of MARTA but oh well. Does this mean that I can get on the bus at 105th and Metcalf and connect with the Sly's streetcar and get robbed at gunpoint by hopping a single bus and interchange onto the streetcar? Count me in!

  3. @5:58, just be glad we're over here and away from all their bankruptcy-inducing nonsense.

  4. 6:12 why is it you must daily post after post, story after story, have to enlighten us with your continuous stupidity remarks that only prove what a loser you really are?

  5. Omigod. they're gonna let Sly and the Gang run the joke that is the JO?

Somebody needs to rethink this. For the people who run Killer City, JO means something entirely different.

  6. I guess they need some new drivers to be beat up by passenger thugs.

  7. Bad news for suburbanites. If the ATA has any access to TheJo funding... it's lights out for equitable transportation.

  8. 6:12 is one of the new breed of bloomin' idjits who thinks a snarky comment completely irrelevant to the argument somehow wins him an internet debate.

  9. The Jo has no funding dipshit. That's hwy it among the worst suburban transit agencies in the nation. It's literally a laughing stock. The idea that an suburban county of 600K people would have a system like the Jo is symptomatic of why metro Kc is falling so far behind its former peers.

Also, Johnson County has ALWAYS had seats on the KCATA board.

  10. Cost to go up soon.

  11. KCATA USED TO RUN the JoCo buses. Until JoCo thought they could do it better.

They need better bus route options, especially to south JoCo.

How can you expect maids, nannies and gardeners be on time without a decent bus line. Not to mention workers at McDonald;s and Taco Bell.

    1. I'll say one thing, Magdalena and Julio better not be late for their chores when this happens or Uncle Sly will answer to me.
