Today's Rock Chalk Roasterie Coffee Lesson

A setback in our ONGOING TKC BOYCOTT . . . Kansas City coffee is taking it's game to the university level . . .

KU coffee shops rebranding to Kansas City’s Roasterie

Deets:

"KU is rebranding its various coffee shops and stations to highlight their affiliation with the Roasterie. The Kansas City, Mo., based coffee company that air-roasts its own beans features a vintage propeller plane in its logo.

"KU has partnered with the Roasterie and served its coffee for years, said Nona Golledge, director of KU Dining Services. The rebranding effort will make that recognizable, and hopefully appeal to people who care about supporting local companies."

While getting students hooked on a specific type of caffeine is a smart move . . . We can only suggest taking the Westside blighting airplane to the KU campus and see if it flies there . . . Moreover, this is yet another reason to visit Starbucks or hopefully some stranger's house for a better bit of morning java.

More in a bit . . .

Hattie's Fine Coffee in Prairie Village (83rd & Mission Road) custom roasts its coffee too. They carry coffees from Ethiopia, Sumatra, Costa Rica, and about 10 other countries and areas. The roaster is right there in the store, and the owners David and Gretchen Copeland do the roasting.

Parisi (sp?) coffee all the way. Tastes way better than Roasterie.

Nice try. You know why there's no line out the door like most good coffee places?

Had to start buying Starbucks in the store. Roasterie prices went up a ridiculous amount. It's good but not that good.

The new "hopefully" business model.

DC-3/C47. Finest, most reliable plane ever made. Hundreds of them still in service.

I see the plane and it reminds me of you chuck: old, outdated, useless and a symbol of a dead and bygone era.

That's a lie 9:47. You have never thought that ! Why lie? Why?

9:47 sounds like a millennial, who believes the music of Marcus Mumford is far superior to that of Bob Dylan.

After all, it's newer... and newer is ALWAYS better.

Agree about the price of Roasterie coffee. Ridiculous! Maybe they spent too much money on that plane?
