TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY FIREFIGHTER UNION RAGE OVER REPUBLICAN MAILER!!!

The reality in solidly red state Missouri is that partnering with the GOP is a fact of life for any successful statewide concern . . . Still, more than a few members of the Kansas City Firefighter Union rank and file bristle at the thought of GOP partnership.

To wit . . .

DURING PRIMARY SEASON . . . GOOD DEMOCRATIC PARTY KANSAS CITY FIREFIGHTERS RAGE OVER REPUBLICAN MAILERS FROM THEIR UNION!!!

Here's a quick word from an AWESOME TKC TIPSTER . . .

"Things that should never be seen on a union paper: Republican"

Here's a closer look . . .

Again, this bi-partisan cooperation is a fact of life and something that should remind us that so much political chatter is mostly (bad) theater . . . Nevertheless, the new normal is that Kansas City Firefighters and labor in general are no longer unilaterally aligned with Democrats and now openly display their GOP affiliations.

    Mr. Tony,
A huge section of union members are GOP. Sadly true. The natural partnership of unions and the Democratic Party was erroded when the Democratic leadership went to the extreme left wing of it's membership to garner huge checks. Now we are suppose to call ourselves "Progressives".
We left middle class American union members.
I hope and pray that these members will give us another chance as we are the right choice when it comes to paycheck issues.

I am glad of the morning rain. Smells nice.

  6. Somehow it's not surprising that the mostly suburban white readership here at Tonys Johnson County is less than appalled at the endorsement of republican.

90% of this readership is tea party anti transit reactionaries, union haters, and internet tough guy race warriors.

  14. Says more about the democrats elected in this town than it does the unions. Worthless.

  15. Is this to give them more money to build a new station and then close the station?

  16. A couple people on that list have helped the unions hold the line in Jefferson City against some of the out-state RTW focused ultra-conservatives. One or two will probably pull the endorsement in November as well, because without people like them down there the majority will run roughshod over labor. This martyrdom-over-compromise mentality is really getting counterproductive, from Ted Cruz to Unions only voting Democrat...hyper-partisanship leads to bad really stupid decisions.
