  4. If the City can't outsource billing, I don't know what functions could stand up to the local Unions?

    Taxpayers are not winning.

    Mr. Tony,
I have a bad feeling about this. This council will do something stupid and try to outsource within the next 6 months.
They are like an uncontrolled outbreak. It will get worse before it seems to get better.
Put on your seatbelts, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

  6. Looks like the voters again slapped the bow tie off of this narcissistic prick of a mayor.

  7. Haha. You think these elected folks give up that easily? They'll just reintroduce a new effort and force another showdown. This was just a way to do an end run around the voters. By repealing it, they can avoid a vote. Now it's just a waiting game to try again.

  8. Another win for the little guy!

    Anyone but Sly in 2015!

  9. Councilman Sharp made this possible. He was encouraging everone to sign the petition. I did. And it sends a message that Sly needs to stop bullying.

  10. Bunch of idiots - you people don't understand that city employees have no incentive to collect on our behalf - unpaid bills = more of us paying for others. This was the best initiative from City Hall since Sly took over - yep, outsourcing is not something the unions want at any level - you got screed and you're applauding - Morons

  11. Don't like Sly but he was right to support this. City Hall needs to privatize more. Less city employees mean less pension risk to us

  12. Sly wanna get he assed reelected. He can't start no range war with sherwood adn the ghost of louie present.

  13. The ambulance service is next on the privatization agenda. Just wait.

  14. For quite a few KCMO "leaders" the very purpose of government is to be a source of patronage jobs so that they can be re-elected or continue to hold their cushy positions in one nonprofit or another.
For decades the KCPS was little more than that, with folks roaming the halls looking for work for unqualified family and friends.
So if your tax money is mostly for employment for others, tax incentives for developers, or contracts for city hall insiders, where does that leave you?
    All aboard the streetcar!

  15. Well folks remember how you were old that having the FD take over MAST was going to save gobs of money AND reduce response times...........really wake up! No jobs were going to be cut, they were just going to add an outside firm to the payroll. fuck get clue.
