TELL MAYOR SLY AND CITY COUNCIL TO STOP PLANNING THE NEXT KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR EXPANSION VOTE!!!
Neither Mayor Sly nor most of the Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar advocates can take NO for an answer.
Get it straight . . .
IN THE MODERN ERA KANSAS CITY VOTERS HAVE REJECTED TOY TRAIN SCHEMES ONE DOZEN TIMES!!!
Sadly, political consultants and local corporations keep wanting to ram it through . . .
STILL A 20 POINT DEFEAT SHOULD SPEAK LOUD AND CLEAR AND REVEAL THAT MIDTOWN KANSAS CITY DOESN'T WANT THIS ECO-DEVO TRANSIT SCHEME!!!
Nevertheless d-bags like Staubio think the downtown line will convince everyone that old school toy train transit will save their souls . . . Sadly, that nimrod is forgetting that low ridership numbers and the ENSUING TOY TRAIN VIOLENCE we're all expecting is probably gonna derail his pipe dream.
Now . . .
Overall it was a pretty rough night for transit in the Show-Me State . . .
Voters reject expansion of streetcar line in KCMO, defeat transportation sales tax
However, this KANSAS CITY INSIDER offers a unique perspective that brings it all together . . .
Transportation question wins in KC and streetcar losses. They (voters) don't trust the city, mayor, council, etc..
Yup, Kansas City Insiders are drilling down and showing trends which reveal a major mistrust in local government thanks to the SHAMEFUL AND DESPICABLE TACTICS used by toy train advocates to try and rig the process.
Sadly, City Hall elected officials haven't learned their lesson . . . Following the same losing pattern, toy train obsessed politicos would rather go back to the election drawing board then listen to the priories of their constituents who don't believe the eco-devo pipe dreams of Councilman Russ Johnson and his friends.
Developing . . .
Tony, a sage word of advice from the Polar Bear. Avoid 12 & Oak. You are a very unpopular individual right now.
ReplyDeleteMany dimwits within the Killa City voting populance had no idea how stupid this Toy Soul Train Ghetto Express Train was until you started a serious online questioning of the facts.
The Bear didn't have any idea this was such a big rip off. Once details started to drip out, it became obvious.
While TKC is fodder for far out over the right field fence comments from the Bear, you deserve much of the credit for STOPPING THE TOY TRAIN with a giant WEB ROADBLOCK. Kudos......
Now, with the ass kissing out of the way, don't think for a fucking second that the douche bag, GRIFTER crowd that calls 12th and Oak "their workplace" are going to stop with a measly 60=40 defeat. Nope, they will be back and TKC will be one of their targets. Information, actually facts, are the Grifters worst enemy.
Keep vigilant TKC...the Bear clan has their hands full with a trope of bat shit crazy raccoon's down here deep in the Ozarks. At least we haven't seen "hoodis rattis urbanis" in a week.
Ya'll enjoy dodging shit slinging hood rats and lead throwing criminals around Killa City.
As TKC would say,,,,,,peace, out.
Polar Bear 2016!
ReplyDeleteNow, after all the ridiculous claims, payoffs, promises, and threats and after hundreds of thousands were thrwon away on a fruitless "campaign", comes the really hard work of recognizing facts and arithmetic.
ReplyDeleteThe original TDD was never designed to pay for the Main Street line; it was designed to win the original vote that launched this fiasco. The money will come from the general fund.
$10 million was borrowed to plan the expansion and is being paid back interest-only, by looting the PIAC funds for neighborhood infrastructure maintenance. The money will come from the general fund.
All the wild claims of state and federal money are pie-in-the-sky. The money will come from the general fund.
This entire stampede of the transit lemmings and their elected airheads have put KCMO in an even more difficult financial position and actual services important to residents will continue to be cut. The money has to come from the general fund.
Apparently hucksterism and governing are two different concepts and only one of them are practiced by Sly and the gang.
When you want to make a big splash and call attention to yourself, it should probably be over something worthwhile and you really have to succeed.
KCMO has made a national fool of itself.
Did they use any unsolicited bulk email in promoting this referendum?
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor is lame duck. He is going, going ,2015 gone. Let the countdown begin.
ReplyDeleteActually P. Bear, if the swells at City Hall think Tony was the catalyst in this defeat, they will not kick his ass, they will kiss his ass. He won't be persona non grata he will be the girl every one wants to take to the prom.
ReplyDeleteJob one will be the effort to co opt Tony's influence in future endeavors by way of manipulation and legerdemain.
So long mom's basement, hello swanky condo?
OF COURSE the pols can't just let the choo-choo pipe dream go.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to get wealthy in public office is big-ass construction contracts. Grateful contractors will make top politicos and their heirs very rich. Kickbacks and other graft (think paid trips to Europe).
In a middling town like Killer City, there are only so many potential big-ass contracting jobs you can approve. The choo-choo may be the biggest and most lucrative.
KC = Tulsa.
ReplyDeleteGreat work Tony!
ReplyDeleteKeep those thieves in city hall at bay.
LOL Chuck.....you may be right.
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean Tony will have to shower on a regular basis and get a new ball cap ?
They will get lose in Nov.
ReplyDeleteGood to see the emancipators have started early on the magic bus proposal they promised all the NO voters. I thought they'd just be gloatin about having set the city back another 20 years...
ReplyDeleteYup, Tony should get the credit for knocking the mayoral railroad boondoggle off the tracks. In a town full of lazy and sycophantic (go ahead, look it up) news media, Tony alone stood up and called it bulllshit.
ReplyDeleteFact is, Tony's blog has become required reading around here, notwithstanding the fact that it also has become the predominant web chat service for local racists, far-right types and other mental defectives.
I see on the Star site today a report that Jackson County paroles twice as many killers as the rest of Missouri counties. Here again, a story that Tony broke a long time ago.
I've grown accustomed to watching the Star -- formerly a respected newspaper and the only serious news medium in town -- follow in Tony's journalistic footsteps, usually weeks or months after he breaks a big story.
If you want to be well-informed in Killa City, you need to read TKC.
Tonys fact checking is untouchable, 8:01.
Deleteas in it doesn't exist!
A small victory of an otherwise runaway train.
ReplyDeleteCrawl back into your metrosexual hipster fantasyland one-room apartment and open a vein 8:01.
ReplyDeleteits required reading if youre a redneck retarded or racist.
ReplyDeleteotherwise no
people laugh at the man. nobody takes him seriously
You're reading this!
DeleteIf the state transportation tax passed in KC and the streetcar failed, Freedom was the big winner yesterday. Along with Alfred Jordan.
ReplyDeleteit used to be cool but then it got all HURF DURF GONNA AIR ME OUT SOME THUG FERALS
ReplyDeleteOnce James B. Nutter Sr. dies, we will have the streetcar as part of an integrated and rational public transportation system. The old financial rapist funded the complete NO campaign through the two committees. The old man has a fetish opposition to efficient public transportation.
ReplyDeleteBut didnt the pro-streetcar people spend a lot more money trying to buy votes? What about them? Are you saying only tax-increase supporters have a right to finance their side's campaign, while anyone who opposes the boondoggle with their wallet is a financial rapist? Thats the arrogance that will continue to get trounced at the polls, and rightfully so.
DeleteUgly thoughts, rationalization, denial.
Delete8:12...don't forget newbie India Williams over old timer Bonnaye Mims, another HUGE Freedom victory.
ReplyDelete8:09
ReplyDeleteYou're so fulla shit. 8:01 is correct. The swells that hang around City Hall like starving sea gulls flying over a garbage barge NEVER leave home without checking which way the fuckin wind blows and that means reading TKC so see who is zoomin who. Who is usually zoomin is the politicians and "Community Organizers" who zoom us up the fuckin ass 24/7.
Council members, lawyers, developers, mayors, mayor's wives, KC Star Staff top to bottom and Ivory Tower denizens know they better check the truth as seen on TKC before they start slinging the daily dose of bullshit to we hoi polloi.
You bet your fuckin ass they read it.
After this defeat and all the information that came out in the run-up about just how ill conceived and under funded the whole streetcar boondoggle is, it will be hard for the City to get any support for putting this thing up for a vote again anytime in the near future. Expect the City to continue to fund Phase 1 through general funds, more of the water bond money, and PIAC accounts while they lick their wounds and pretend they "just don't understand" why everyone didn't jump on board.
ReplyDelete...and once the initial line is up and running, and the City is coughing up millions each year to keep it going, and the promised development along the line never really materializes, and the City starts staring down the barrel of bankruptcy, they won't have a snowball's chance in hell of ever expanding it.
ReplyDeleteChuck is right. They read this blog.
ReplyDeleteThat said...
Hello Sly. Suck my dick. Choo! Choo!
Hello Russ. Rim my pucker while Sly slobbers my knob.
Hello Cindy. Why does your breath smell like the worn-out cunt of a fat latina political loserbeast fraudster?
The choke hold that our politicians, in conjunction with the 4th estate had over our lives and what we used to take for granted as the truth, is at an end. The fact is, the Kansas City Star, the politicians in City Hall, the grifters on the East Side, the big Law Firms, developers and elites that held such sway over our lives by way of lies and missrepresentations and the ongoing disingenuous production of so called "facts" that were supposed to dictate our votes and sympathies are now vetted by blogs such as TKC all over the US.
ReplyDeleteThe results of this sea change in the dissemination of the news is a far more egalitarian city complete with serious blow back for politicians and swells who neglect to check the wind before trying to feast at the public tax payer trough.
Nice job Tony.
Time to CLEAN HOUSE in Kansas City.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of Sly the entire clowncil.
Sly and his magic council are not listening. They are determined to continually force shit down our throats. But be sure you keep voting these nut jobs back into office.
ReplyDeleteMensa boy (8:01 (#1), 8:09, and 8:14 so far) is certainly gracious in defeat! You'd think that loser would be used to defeat by now.
ReplyDeleteNo Polar Bear, Tony's de rigueur will remain the same as his legend grows.
ReplyDelete17.81% of KC residents are at least semi-literate.
ReplyDeleteTwo words... East Patrol.
ReplyDeleteSame scheme as the Toy Train. See the connection, here?
If the plan was so effective then why was it voted down overwhelmingly. The truth is, this loss is 100% the fault of Sly James and Mensa boy. They think local government in a Democracy looks like an autocracy. These fools let their political positions (not really that powerful, really) go to their heads, did the wrong thing, ignored the public need and expected that the public would fall in line with some over-the-top door-to-door rhetoric. There is no transit plan and that's the problem. The plan was to get as much public dollars pooled together so the public could get ripped off, just like 9:07am has proposed. Sly is a thief.
ReplyDeleteYou can fool some people some of the time...
Fixed streetcsrs (lightrail) is not about trandportation. It is about getting hundreds of millions of tax dollars for enginering firms, law firms, and financal firms. The so called starter-line was rigged Transportation distrct meant to keep the citizens of this fine city from voting on the issue. Yesterday's attempt on a rigged election shows the public is on to the deception. Sly and bully-boy Russ Johnson now have to bully us again.
ReplyDeleteI just read that article. Sly James must be recalled.
ReplyDeleteThere is evil afoot in River City and the toy train is very important to some powerful people who pull Mayor James strings, let us not forget that these same people have an airport they want to sell us. Don’t forget that Sly James is not the ventriloquist but the dummy. What is good for the Kemper banks, J. E. Dunn Construction, Burns and McDonald Donnell, Black and Veatch, HTNB and the other assorted construction and engineering contractors, consultants and financial people is not good for Kansas City. Crony capitalism is not capitalism but socialism for the rich. The crony capitalist hates the free market, democracy and popular opposition as much as any Marxist. If Tony gets the credit for what he has done, I do not look for him to be sitting on Kansas City Week in Review but for the long knives to be out for him and they will either turn him or silence him. If he is every Nick Haines’ guest, then they will have turned him.
ReplyDeleteNo worries Sly. There's always worse. But you did #TakeASherwoodSmith on this one
ReplyDeletea big ..fat..smelly...Sherwood Smith
Shitwood Smurf?
ReplyDeleteI think Jacob Turk during his first election got more votes than Sherwood Smith. LOL
ReplyDelete#TakingSherwoodSmith
I was taking a Sherwood Smith and dropped a sizeable Turk.
ReplyDeleteAfter last night's election results, City Hall heard you loud and clear. "No means yes,"
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to lump the BNIM folks in with Burns and Mac and other corporate looters of KCMO. 10:31 is spot-on - Socialism for the rich is what is going on behind the wizard's curtain.
ReplyDeleteAfter last nights election, the rest of the country resoundingly heard KC say:
ReplyDelete"If you're looking for a little bigger version of Wichita, move here after high school! There will always be a supply of abandoned houses in neighborhoods where people used to live! And make sure you own a car cause we think having good transportation is silly! If you want goofy shit like that move to one of the healthy growing cities that have outpaced us!"
"And the entire success, future prosperity, reputation, and life of our town depended on an ill-conceived boutique transportation project! "
DeleteGet over it. The scare tactics didn't work before the election, what makes you think they'll work now? Perhaps Austin has some barista positions open for you.
The Polar Bear is the sexiest thing west of the Mississippi! And south of the North Pole for that matter...
ReplyDeleteThe Polar Bear is the stupidest thing west of the Mississippi! And south of the North Pole for that matter...
ReplyDeletethere fixed that for you
Do you think this loss will cause Sly to replace his current staff with people he sees as more competent? Or at least re-organize his office?
ReplyDelete12:06 = Idiot
ReplyDelete@ 12:15- Anything is possible, but right now he should be on every channel apologizing. And wear a long tie like the rest of us working stiffs had to.
ReplyDeleteHis band was really good in the 1960's, but now he needs to grow up (I never thought that I would say that about anyone).
Seen this duck fart underwater before said:
ReplyDeleteIt ain't over. It will not go away. You are dealing with crazy people.
12:06: Mensa boy again accepting defeat gracefully.
ReplyDeleteI'd suggest all of the never-say-die streetcar enthusiasts move to Austin. August is just lovely there.
ReplyDeleteI would vote for anyone for mayor who promised to make Kansas City a big Wichita. Many of us do not want to live in Portland or San Fransicko but in a nice mid size Midwestern city.
ReplyDeleteSaint Louis has had a toy train for years and outside of good baseball the city has been in decline all the while. So move there if riding a train makes your life worthwhile.
ReplyDeleteJust FYI, the neighborhoods along the light rail line in StL are the only ones in the entire city that grew over the last 25 years.
DeleteThink about it before you knew jerk-off, Steve.
Or any other major city in America. We don't want you here streetcar pushers, so please, make like David Johnson and flee while you still can.
ReplyDeleteIsn't is obvious to all of you that the measure didn't pass because of deep-rooted bias against the LGBT community?
ReplyDeleteWe need the federal government to declare martial law in KC and make mandatory these taxes so the rainbow train can choo choo around town full of super-minority freaks.
If Sly & company want toy train they need to get their rich cronies to pay for it and stop trying to put it on the backs of the poor and middle-class with increased taxes for us and tax giveaways for the rich and corporations. Stop giving taxpayer money away to lowlife grifters who don't accomplish anything. Let's see real results.
ReplyDeleteLol, little do you goofballs know...
ReplyDeleteThe TDD passed in midtown and the plaza.
Guess we'll be building ourselves a nice little spine to the plaza while the east side continues it's trajectory to becoming a mini Detroit.
Good job Freedom. Now we don't have to spend OUR money subsidizing infrastructure to the east side.
Build it where they want it. Doesn't get any more democratic and local than that.
12:09 why do you wear your jeans with the zipper in the back ?
ReplyDeleteWait, you are obviously a gay, cocksucking, hipster.
Never mind.
5:10-5:14: Give it up, Mensa boy. The game is over.
ReplyDeleteI-19 north is the way back to Nebraska.
And please use your high IQ to learn when to use "its" and when to use "it's." (Hint: It's is a contraction of "it is.")
That's I-29, but you can use I-19 if you can find it.
ReplyDeleteHe can swim the Missouri back to Nebraska.
ReplyDeleteWE should demand that City Hall cancel the phase I contract and start over with something that actually will help the City's transit.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the money that hasn't been spent and now will not be spent by the engineering firms City Hall needs to get money back and pay off part of the ten million they borrowed!!
ReplyDeleteI was really pleased that Mensa man didn't get much sleep last night. He was looking for an answer which he has not been able to come up with yet.
ReplyDeleteRemember this is not his first "train ride" He has used his superior thinking power before and it has proved MEDIOCRE. This time his superior thinking failed. It wasn't mediocre it was WORTHLESS. IT FAILED.
We are waiting anxiously to see this modern smart affordable magical
ReplyDeleteMystery bus sherry Dejanes and dan coffee promised the city.
And once again Mensa boy shows grace in defeat at 9:19.
ReplyDeleteEither Mensa boy, or one of the 55% of midtowners who didn't buy your lies, race baiting and shilling for rich plutocrats.
DeleteAlso might be one f the many brooksiders who thinks you guys are bullying peices of shit...
KCATA is already jacked. They spent a few million dollars on a study and the organization is just as inefficient as ever. Why was there a proposal for the Linwood route anyway ? The bus service on that street was cut due to low ridership and then after folks bellowed, a little shuttle bus was added and that bus still does not get that many customers.
ReplyDeleteThat old SLY Devil needs to lick his wounds and stop trying to get his pet projects thru while Obama is still in office.
I will be glad when people hold politicians feet to the fire. They are all crooked.
Lastly- less than 15,000 voted and I am sure we aint heard the last of this streetcar. Burns and McDonnel im sure were salivating at the possibilities.
